The idea is simple. Move your body. Get fitter.

Between the dates of November 1 and November 30, the challenge is to earn 50 Becker Points. Points can be earned in the following fashion:

1 mile (1.6 km) on foot = 1 Becker Point
3 miles (4.8 km) road cycling = 1 Becker Point
2 miles (3.2 km) mountain biking = 1 Becker Point
1 mile (1.6 km) swimming = 4 Becker Points

If you just do one thing, you'll need to hoof it 50 miles, or road bike 150 , or mountain bike 100 miles, or swim 12.50 miles. You may combine items to build toward 50 Becker Points in any fashion you choose. Honor system in play.
This thread will be the place where people report in on their progress.
In addition, this month and next will be counting towards those of us participating in Crisonfalcon's Spartan fitness giveaway (separate thread) .

Soooo ready for this one, and wouldn't you know, it's been pouring rain all day. Geez.....

Oh well, going to start the pushup/situp challenge today

Double workout day...sort of...
500m in the pool this morning. Right shoulder is hurting a bit; don't know whether it's from week 2 of the 100 push-ups, shooting my bow, driving so much....but I've been waking up with numb hands and today was really feeling it in the pool. Plus, first time I've swum in months. So....like, 1 point.

The rain finally abated and the sun came out for our first foreshortened day of the season - took off for a ride around 3:00, sunset ~4:30. Flatted at 5.5 miles. Still got ten trail miles in, but it was cooling off rapidly and getting dark by the time I rolled home. Time for lights, I reckon. 5 points.

Starting off November with 6 BP. Sposedta do my push-up max tonite. Don't think my shoulder can take it.

numb hands. yah. sleeping posture. pinches in back. no fun.

you need a massage too.

i moved a couple tons of oak today, by hand, because, workout :D

split all the rounds already. 20 minutes of work to turn the other stuff moved into rounds. short time to split.

when it becomes "needful" and "survival" i'll do it with machines... tractor...

though i note the "really Really REALLY cool" wood splitter is on sale this week ;)

still... machine is far slower than by hand. loud. uses gas. useful though when i'm 70+ :D

dragging logs by hand is also a good chuff.

i have a week off, i'm going to "log" every day, for hours.

get it done...

3 mile run to start off this month! + 3 for a walk with my little guy in the backpack = 6

2.5 mile walk tonight around town. Stupid warm for November in NH. Actually sweated. It was so nice out I could have kept on walking - if it weren't for the need to micturate. I had a friend who could find some little hideaway right in the middle of town - not so w/ me. Had to head home or risk a very embarrassing incident.

2.5+6=8.5

6 more miles on foot today. Total of 9 miles so far this month. 9 BPS! As busy as I always am, I'd say I'm doing purty good. Meh, giving it a shot anyway.

A pretty normal week for me.

My normal commute (2.4 miles total) 5 times, then futsal on Friday night, and a ride on Saturday. However, I wasn't feeling well on Saturday, and only rode 10 miles, instead of my normal 17.6 mile loop.

((2.4*5 ) + 10)/3 + 4 = 11.33 BP for the week. Not great, but not altogether bad either.

Monthly Total: 11.33 BP

Nice (tho chilly and windy) 31.5 mile ride this morning.

8.5+10.5=19 BP TTD.
