I'm hoping someone here in the Forum can help me get in touch with Myerchin knives out in CA.

I'd placed an online order for two knives at their website almost two weeks ago. At that time, I'd received both an order number and an order Confirmation Number. Now, if I go to their Customer Page and submit that Confirmation Number all the order info shows up -- both knives, date of order, my name and particulars. The "Shipped Date" field is empty. Payment by VISA is shown but the $amount of the invoice does not appear to have been charged against my VISA card. I'm guessing that either something glitched in the middle of processing my order OR one or both of the knives I ordered is not in stock and Myerchin is holding off charging my card until they're ready to ship.

The upsetting thing here is that I have tried every which way to get in touch with the folks at Myerchin -- I've emailed to a couple of different email addresses and left voice messages on the answering machines at both their 800 and local area code phone numbers, and no one has responded.

I'm hoping that all's okay. I really do want the knives I ordered. Maybe they're away and closed for vacation? Anyone have any ideas?

If they are on vacation you would think they would leave a message or something, maybe an email to all the customers stating they are away.

I hope it turns out ok for you.

All's well!

Laura at Myerchin answered the phone yesterday. It sounded like they'd been "closed" for a long weekend. There had been the usual email snafus -- she was surprised I hadn't received an email notice re the shipping of the one fixed blade knife/spike I'd ordered being delayed as they were out of the sheaths. Additionally, she said I should have received an email asking me if I wanted them to ship the other knife without waiting for the sheath's arrival.

Laura advised that their shipment of sheaths was "in Customs" and they'd expect to receive them today. I'm hoping that my phone call might ensure that my order might be attended to ASAP.

I'll come back here to update status.

The people at Myerchin do not seem to like using email much. I still have never received a single message back from them.

UPDATE: I now see that my order was shipped April 1st ...well, at least it was electronically entered into the Post Office's Priority Mail system.

I'll be real happy to receive the two knives I ordered.

I'd have to strongly recommend that all dealings with Myerchin be done directly on the phone -- they're not REALLY online at this point. If you MUST purchase their knives on the internet be best to buy from one of their many dealers.
