Hello All,

I wanted to do a little giveaway, and have spent some time thinking about it. Here's what I've come up with, and I hope it's fun for participants as well as myself.

First off... This is a mystery GAW. I don't know what knife I'll be giving away, and I haven't decided yet how many winners there will be. But I promise there will be a knife suitable for the porch*, and at least one winner (based on participation).

Still interested? Please carry on reading :D

The GAW will start on Sunday March 8th, so if you're in, you have a few days to think about your entry. There are three qualifications for entry.

  1. Have a traditional knife that you don't carry very often for whatever reason
  2. By Sunday March 8th, post that you're in, let us know what knife, and commit to carry your not very carried traditional knife for the coming week, Monday March 9th through Friday March 13th - 5 days in a row shouldn't be too hard ;)
  3. By 4pm Mountain Standard Time on Sunday March 15th, post an update on your week, how your journey with the knife went - did you enjoy it/hate it?
Now, you are more than welcome to post updates throughout the week, but points 2 and 3 above are your entries to the GAW.

I'll be joining you for the week too, because why make people do something you yourself aren't willing to do?

* Prize(s) will not be new/unused. Knife/knives will be in good, usable condition, but will have seen some pocket time and some use while in my posession. I'm pretty gentle on my knives, but just wanted to set expectations.

There is no point 4.

Is this knife to be carried to the exclusion of others, or can it be carried in conjunction with others?

Good idea for a giveaway. I have knives that don't get carried as often. Not necessarily because I don't like them, but because I have options, and favorites and cant carry them all.

I'll take a look and give it some thought.

Funny enough, this week, I had been carrying a few I have not for years...I was planning on taking a photo titled "slumming it" they are not my best, or nicest. One is a self made (though not really a traditional design?)

All right. Ready to update my post...

I have never carried this old Utica Kutmaster barlow.

I rarely carry this Queen grandad barlow (love the knife.......but I dropped it twice on the concrete and the bone is cracked now...)

I've been carrying both all week......

Cool idea you Crazy Canuck!

I will enjoy this, but I will be playing for @afishhunter as I have been very fortunate in many ways lately.

My wife and I bought a house in TN last spring, and then with the moving all of our stuff from our house of 27 years 540 miles north, and then the subsequent remodel, I have not had time (or inclination) to use my 2019 Forum Knife. That is the knife I choose for the challenge, and I have already put Spam on the shopping list.

best regards -

mqqn (Andy)

Oh I've got some good candidates, but I'm in a crazy work situation right now and while I can definitely put one of them in my pocket I'm not sure it'll see much use.
Still I'll decide on one and pocket it for a the week.

That's the question, Paul. Not an easy choice. :)

I've got mine picked out. I've been intrigued by the Case Small Texas Jack, but there was always another knife I wanted to get first, and I've never gotten around to it. Well, I figure it's time we get to know each other and see if we get along like I think we will.

Since Andy ( mqqn mqqn ) has already entered with his choice, I'll join from now too. Case Small Texas Jack is sharpened up, joints are oiled, and in pocket it goes for the first time, and for the duration. Official start isn't until Monday morning, but I'm getting a head start ;)

Great interest so far, and I can't wait to see everyone's choices!
