N.E.C.K.A. Hammer-In Nov 15th

Here I go again. Left that big clip point at IG's yesterday, along with the over size guard that will look real nice on it. Son of a B***H. :D :D

Had a real nice time, Joe did some very nice grinding with the KMG, right HammerFall?

Didn't spend much time at the forge (just passing by to the beer cooler), but there were a lot of projects going on at that work station.

yeah Joe is pretty skilled with a grinder as most of the seasoned pros are that were there yesterday, dan how did that billet come out?

heehehe I'm about ready to see how the 480 layer turned out I made.
I think IG got beer in it though :D

I had a great time as usual other than the traveling..:(
there was an accident on the way home that detoured us
we left at 4:30 and I got home at about 11:30 :(

it was good to see all you guys again. IG you watch out for
Tomahawk Monica :D
she enjoyed the time with Helen

Real sorry I missed this one (again). I been meaning to hook up with you guys, and I would have, but the insurance company had an inspector coming by to look at my shop. My wife is in Maine this weekend, so fargged if I didn't have to be home for it. It looks liek you fellas had a fun time too. Maybe next time I'll bring my son for DD and I'll show you guys how to drink beer... New Hampsha Style!

I am glad you guys and gal had a good time. It took me a day to recoop. Who else was drinking the Christian Brothers besides me????
Dan, are you planning to make a knife this week out of the billet?? Once you surface grind it let us see the pattern. You will have to come down here for a day and we can do up a canister and another billet ladder pattern. Helen liked TH Monica too.
Higgy: If you get to Sh!tface I'll just let you sleep in the Smitty with the other Skunk.  :p :D
Larry; You would forget your head if it wasn't forge welded on. AH!! It was you that helped me drink the Brandy.:D :D
The taller Mike that showed up in the afternoon is a Cooperate Lawyer from NYC. He lives in Somerset MA. on weekends and has been to the ABS school.

IG,

Is it cool to swing up to your place tomorrow after work, I'd get there around 4:15 or so? :D :D

Dan, what you got out of that billet has a very cool pattern.

Larry what was you saying about the Bandsaw blade in it?
the teeth was a differant make up than the Band it self?

Bandsaw blade,1095, Nickel,and the out side 1084 480 layer

Dan,

What I got off of a web site that sells that manufacturers blades, says that the cutting edge is tool steel and the backing is spring steel. I'm going to try to find out the material composition, but this could take a while. There is no mild steel in those band saw blades.

IG,

I'll call you. Good luck with the interview, which ever way you want it to go. :D :D

look out Larry and Mike you guys are there more than I am
I can't save you.. must be the relish :)

he uses to relish to impair our judgement... we don't fall for it though .....atleast i don't hahaha just kidding Larry. so what do you guys say? another hammer in in december? we can all stand by IG's relish container to keep warm! hey we better get in all the complaints and teasing while he's out on the interview

Hey Guys,

This is Mike Butler here, the sleazy NY lawyer who crashed your NECKA hammer-in last weekend. Just wanted to drop a note of thanks to IG and you all for having me by. Also sorry that I missed out on the heat-treaters relish George, but maybe next time.

After I left the hammer-in I headed home, and after only a small loss of eye brow hair, managed to get my new propane forge setup. With a little luck, when I next catch up with you all, (I'm planning on being up MA way again for the Christmas holidays) I'll finally have something to show.

Take care and catch you all in December!

Mike

Mike,
It was nice meeting you at IG's. It's always good to have a new face in town, see you again next time you make a hammerin or knife show.:D :D

Oh yeah, you better be ready, I mean REALLY ready for IG's Heat Treat Relish.
