Name That Knife GA!! We Have a Winner!! See post #132!

Charlie,
This is a very generous give away from Bill and nice of You to take the time to make it happen.
I was excited to think of a name, but as I was looking at the list, I saw three very logical competing entrys, so I will pass.

How about "A-Men Jack". Combo of All Men Are Created EQUAL (appropriate reminder for current news happenings), and thank God for this pattern, GEC, Charlie and Barry. Or some rendition similar, All Men Jack.

I'd buy the t-shirts G2 was talking about-if it came with one free G2 sharpening or photo of knife 😎😁👍

Post script- These names are almost to a man, or woman, excellent names. Even the ones that aren't chosen as pattern names, could be used on other knives, or sfo's of this knife. There seems to be 3-4 lines of names (similar style, same wheel-house) that would all work well together. Everybody: wow. Really wow

I'm gonna stick with the cigar theme and one of man's first tools.

Cigars are sometimes referred to as sticks.

Stick was one of man's first tools.

It's a knife with a punch. It looks like a stick. Will hold in a hand like a stick. Its punch will stick. It's equal ended as are most cigars (sticks).

How about the #35 Council?

Council of course being a nod to "forum" and its origins as a forum knife that was designed with the requested input from a group of people - aka a council!

Have to admit, I'm loving the previous suggestion of F35 Lightning.

But anyway, here's mine. Sweet16-Knotty35. Was trying to get both the year and the pattern number in there. Knotty could be spelled "naughty" also, if the chosen covers don't have any form of knotty look.

Love Cowpoke as a name.

But I'll enter with:

Pack Hoss Jack - I believe 'Hoss' can be Southern slang for horse, over your side of the pond. It's is the same, in the North of England (well, in Yorkshire anyway, although we'd probably write it Pack' Oss Jack).

And I know the rules say one entry only, but I just thought of this, and then saw the potential to misappropriate the GEC 'PPP' Pre-Production Prototype stamp, so had to share; Pack Pony Pocketknife.

Thanks for the opportunity sirs & best of luck folks.

OK, we have a raft of names to sift through!
Some are really great; I will arrange a list and forward it to Great Eastern Cutlery, and await their decision!
I have disqualified myself from entering.

Good luck to you all. I wish you could all win a knife!!

We have a winner!! Post #26 Arrowhd!!
We've called our BF knife the Drover, in the GEC tradition of naming new versions, in this case the first version, of a pattern!

Congratulations to the winner!!
Arrowhd, please contact me by email or PM.
A lot of the great names that were entered had some copyright issues, so we threaded a narrow path through the entries, to find one that was acceptable.
A horseback Drover has to be an intrepid leader, no matter what or who they are "droving" (driving). A useful tool is always a help!

Great label!

Congrats, Arrowhd!

Congrats to Arrowhd!:thumbup: Very cool name and image!

(I was a little surprised - and slightly embarrassed - to find out that "Half-Scout", as used on Barry's order site, is not the official name. I've been calling it that for quite a while.)

A tip of the hat, and a big thank you to Liam Strain for the great art work!!
He had to rework it a few times, and came through for us in the clutch!!
Knife assembly will start very soon. As I understand it, the bone is drying from the dye bath . . . .etc, etc.

Good name, congratulations Arrowhd! GEC is calling it a "Half Scout" on their website? I personally don't like the use of "Half" in front of any pattern name (JMHO). I love the tube artwork, excellent work, Liam.

Congrats Arrowhd! You've won a very special knife. :D

Also, a big "Thank You" to Liam for the great label design! Your work under pressure is greatly appreciated.:thumbup:

The knife is progressing nicely, and should be shipping in a few short weeks! :)
