Name the knife

A fitting name to be sure.
Congrats to Cadi and Tr!
There weremany great suggestions including yours. It was so difficult making the decision that they finally narrowed the choices to a few then asked a third person for their opinion.

Got my Fish Hiker today, one thing I would do different if I would get another would be to add some thumb notches.

First off, Great looking knife.

Now to the matter at hand.
Jimping/thumb notches aren't hard to do. Go to your local hardware/gardening store and buy a chainsaw file and a c-clamp. Mark out the notches with a pencil set the clamp as a guide, and start filing. Since the file is hardened to sharpen a chainsaw tooth, O1 shouldn't pose a problem.

On the plus side, you will end up with straight jimping (not that John's isn't). But, with these being more rounded with a more open top, they will allow for better grip with gloves, as well as being easier to clean and oil. Another bonus, if you bring a fire steel with you, you can grab two files (one smaller and one to fit the ferro rod), and use one to create one thumb notch that fits the curve of your ferro rod for better spark generation.
You can then also know that you made your knife "Yours" and add it to the custom of a custom thread.

A multitude of pluses, with only time and patience spent.

Thanks for the tip, now you got me thinking of trying this. I gotta go by Home Depot this weekend and pick up a few things, I'll check out the chainsaw files, I have a few c-clamps around here....
