I only have four at the moment, Mike Williams, Don Hanson, Tim Hancock*, and Steve Dunn.

*My brain is fading, how could I leave out Tim Hancock!

Larry Fuegen and Tom Ferry were made ineligible by recent acquisitions.

1. Buster Warenski
1. Van Barnett
1. Dellena
2. Bailey Bradshaw
3. Steven Rapp

(That numbering is intentional ;))

Got to think big, right? Rick Eaton should be in there, but I'm not crazy! :footinmou

Oh boy, another game! At least you didn't have to ask the reasons for NOT owning knives by these makers......

Bailey Bradshaw--hope to remedy this soon.

Matt Diskin--also hope that this will soon be remedied.

Ed Cafferey--hope to get one.....

Don Hansen --just amazing work.

Richard Rogers --love mulutibladsed slipjoints

In no particular order

1. Burt Foster-Ordered- Excellent workmanship, great person
2. Bailey Bradshaw- Ordered- Fellow martial artist, gets "it", attention to detail
3. Harvey Dean-I like his work, a lot, and may make the jump
4. Jim Crowell- I like his work, too, I did own one, but did not love that particular model. He makes excellent knives, that balance well, and look "right".
5. Jim Rodebaugh-I like Jim, I like his work, and will probably pick up a piece or two from him, but every time I look at his table at the shows, I can't seem to find "THE" piece that I want.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Tough to limit this to five as well. In no particular order:

1) Tim Hancock
2) Burt Foster
3) Terry Primos
4) Jim Crowell
5) Dan Farr

If you're talking about custom makers that I don't own a knife from now and never will that would be: Loveless, Moran, H.H. Frank, and others that are just simply out of my price range.

If you're talking about makers that I don't own a knife from now, but will some day; Tim Herman, Mike Obenauf, Bill Ruple, Bill Burke & Rob Brown come to mind first. I have an order in with Tim and Mike right now so I'll be scratching their names off this list pretty soon. Then you can add Terry Primos and Murray Sterling.

Then you have the makers that are somewhere in between; Riccardo Villarde, S.R. Johnson, Jerry Fisk, Howard Dean, and the list goes on and on.

- Bailey Bradshaw (have one on order)
- Don Fogg
- Tony Bose (have 2 on order)
- Don Hanson
- Frank Centofante

Hard to limit to 5 but I'll give it a try... In no particular order:

Tim Hancock, MS - True cowboy arts, great designs, superb material and F&F - I want one!

Michael Veit - He is a retired maker who studied w/ Rados I believe, and I only know of his pieces from the "Knives - Point of interest" books, but I love his designs.

Barry Davis - Love his folders. I have often "nearly" pulled the trigger but haven't done it so far.

Bill Moran - If I can get a big bowie without paying the price of 3 or 4 Don Fogg swords for it. So in effect, I want one, but I refuse to pay the going rate for one.

I need to think about the #5. So many names... Fuegen could be one, and so could be a collaboration, if that's allowed by the rules... (I am thinking of a knife in collaboration w/ Jim Kelso.)

Makers I would like to own but I am not on a list for in no particular order:

David Broadwell
Tim Hancock,
Larry Fuegen
Steve Dunn,
Dwight Towell

I have orders confirmed with several top makers not listed above so I have left them out, on the basis that sooner or later I will own one - the list above I consider my "Top 5 to do list"!

Interesting how many ABS makers are listed here.
Interesting to note. Only one of my five is an ABS Member AFAIK, and he's a Mastersmith. (Bradshaw)

I'd include James Rodebaugh, M.S. but technically I own one of his pieces. I need to get a higher end one though.

Tough list, I've been fortunate and owned or own some of my most desirable knives:

Moran: probably not going to happen
Lake: as above
Howard Clark: maybe
Jess Horn: Definetly
Tony Bose: Definetly

I'm sure I could just keep going.

The makers or their knives :D? Seriously, I want a Loveless, a Moran, a Scagel, a Fowler and a Lile. I'm not aiming too high, am I ;). I am dead serious, the only handmade piece I own is an antler handled piece I got at a powwow.

1.Lile Rambo style w/Lugged guard
2. Bailey Bradshaw Bowie
3. JR Cook Bowie
4.Harold Corby Devil's Right Hand,it's a D-Guard but with Three interchangeable guards
5.Walter Brend LVTI Presentation Model 5

Tough to limit this to 5, but here goes ...

Conny Persson,mosaic damascus fixed blade
Anders Hogstrom,large fixed
Ricardo Velarde,fixed integral
Rob Patton,bowie/fighter
Tai Goo,neo-tribal fixed

Wish I could own a knife made by
Moran
Loveless
Bagwell
Larry Fuegen
Fisk

but I probably never will

Wish I could own a knife made by
Moran
Loveless
Bagwell
Larry Fuegen
Fisk

These two are available from a number of different purveyors for surprisingly little cash.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Jerry Fisk
Michael Connor
Larry Fuegen
Harvey Dean
J.D. Smith

All of the above (except maybe Michael Connor) are makers that are currently producing knives and that I feel are in a price range that make it possible for me to one day have one of their knives. I could add another ten or fifteen makers to this list with no difficulty at all.
