Nano Oil, Finally The Search Is Over!

Ordered mine from Howes on the 1st, and it showed up in last night's mail, so only 5 days turn-around for me.

Man def quick shipping got an email today saying it was shipped. I didn't get any tracking but at least it has shipped after reading so much about this stuff can't wait to try it on my ZTs.

I ordered and received mine in about 3 business days (ordered on a Fri, received on next Wed). He even tossed in a free lighted magnifier-not great quality, but works to get a closer look at my edges until I get around to a loupe.

Put some in all my folders, worked a bit, and am rather impressed (previously CLP or graphite powder). Slide on my pistol got some as well and manual manipulation is significantly smoother (previously CLP). Haven't tried that one in action yet.

Went ahead and bought the .5 oz bottle (and another same size for a gift) since I'd be using a little more on my firearms, and even then I don't think I'll need to buy anymore for YEARS.

Put some in two of my folders... No noticeable improvement yet (I already had them well oiled). I'm going to disassemble, clean, and buff, and then reapply to see if any difference.

I haven't had a chance to read it in detail, but the following research paper may be relevant, even though the type of nano-particles is different:

"Reduction of power and lubricant oil consumption in milling process using a new SiO2 nanolubrication system"

Pretty quick delivery, ordered direct and received within 1 week of ordering. However, they are in my local area (didn't know until it came).

Ok I wanted to give an update for anyone that is skeptical of nano oil. This stuff is simply amazing, I received my oil today ruffly 5 days from the date of purchase and that is counting the weekends. It was shipped on the same day of the purchase. Now on to how to works I immediately tore apart my ZT 0200 cleaned it and put nano oil on it. The knife is completely different now, it is almost twice as smooth opening and that is with a tighter pivot nut. Def makes a huge difference along with he put a lot of thought of going ahead and using needle bottles to help us all out. Also if you are wondering about which size to pick up like I was, unless you are tearing apart 10 knifes a day the 8cc bottle for $16 will def do the job for you. I did this knife and you can't even tell anything is out of it. Which 3 drops isn't a lot i guess when you think about it. lol anyways hope this helps some people, I am def glad I read this thread and gave this stuff a chance.

I ordered some and it will arrive on Friday.

I think I am just going to use it on pre-oiled knives and let it mix. See if there is improvement.

Svs, you should get a freebie, getting lots of knuts to buy into this magical oil :) Or are you working for them already! :)

Lol, I wish I was given a free tube! I haven't been to this thread since my last comment. Didn't realize all the commotion I started lol.

Well now that I'm here I guess I should chime in on how the Nano Oil is holding up. It's actually holding up well. Have not added any more oil since the first 2 drops! Every new knife I get , received 2 drops of oil. The biggest thing for me is the reduction in pocket lint/dust. It's not completely gone but I would say a solid 50% reduction in knife crud since switching over to Nano Oil. Sold me in that alone!

And for the record, I originally posted this on my own. Not paid or given free Nano Oil for posting this. Wouldn't mind some free oil though! Lol JK.

I bought mine on Amazon and got it in two days. 10W. One drop on each side of the pivot. Then open and close a few times and bingo, smooth as buttah.

The only knife I haven't used it on is the Sebenza since CRK uses that special lubricant and I was afraid Nano would interact with it.

I had a chat with Chris too and upon his recommendation did not disassemble my knives for first use. I applied the oil on the pivots as best as I could, very marginal difference.....so then I applied some more it improved but only slightly.

After many openings to get the oil to spread there was some oil leaking out on to the blade leaving a semi-circle (as expected). So I wiped it off with a paper towel, that made some particles of the tissue stick to the blade making that part of the blade dirtier.

I'm disappointed with this thing, or maybe I used it wrong but I'm not seeing the results everyone else is reporting.

I also bought some of the 10 weight Nano-Oil last summer. It is great stuff, made my pivots smoother than the Tuf Glide I had been using. Also used it on several noisy high speed ball bearings and they settled down nicely.

Ok, I am now sold.

I have been using it on broken in knives and new knives without being too impressed. I just couldn't see the difference/hype about the 10w for knives.
Finally while applying it to my entire collection, I found it worked so well on a knife that I am sold.

Spyderco Cricket.

I love this little knife and just wish I could get my stainless version to open smoothly/flickable. After the Nano-lube treatment I went from a knife I couldn't flick open if my life depended on it, to a smooth easy to flick open knife. I did not take the knife apart or adjust pivots. I just put some nano-lube generously at the pivot area and BAM. Nearly instant fix. :)

Time to put some on my PM45 slide. :3
