is it a national thing or just your local area?

I have no idea where T-Dubb lives but I just got back from my local Wally World and they have it there as well. I live in the upper midwest and was quite impressed to see the Native there. Also, it was a tad cheaper than posted at mine. Mine was asking 39.48

where in the midwest? I went looking for this on Sun in the chicago metro/ west burbs WalMart down the road and no luck here.

I live in the Atlanta Georgia area and just got back from wallyworld and they were putting up the new knife display but had no prices yet. He said by friday it would be up and marked.

They had the regular Spyderco Native, a few new Gerbers but I do not know the names, a Kershaw Blur with black tanto blade and a Storm II. Those are the ones that cought my attention so im not sure what all new products they had. The old guy putting it up was not much for conversation and did not share my enthusiasm lol.

Is this the new one with S30V? That's an awesome deal! Thanks for the info! /puts on coat to go to Wal*Mart...realizes it's 2 hours closed.

Thanks a million for the terrific "heads-up" on a great knife and a major bargain.

I bot WalMart's (super center) entire inventory of Spydercos, both plain edged Natives, in Woodburn, Oregon. Handed over $80 and got more than $1 back. Both are perfect in appearance, function and execution. The blades are marked CPMS30V. Both have been gladly received by my two sons (their first super-steel bladed knives). I miss them already.:(

Love the tip-up carry, black clip and perfect lockup. No need to do the spydi drop with the tip-up carry but you still can if you like. They are just the right size. Feels good and secure in the hand. The finger choil on the bottom of the blade compliments your thumb hold on the aggressive file work on top of the blade. Modern/advanced looking blade. Pointy.

The knives are new to WalMart so the staff had to hunt and peck around a bunch under the counter for them. The Natives are boxed in the usual Spyderco spyderweb printed box with the sliding insert. The knife sits on a bed of foam in the insert. Worth the wait.:D

Best,

oregon
