Got back from my Kentucky trip this evening, and thought I'd share some photos of the area. Looking forward to going back. Kentucky has some beautiful country.

The cabin we lucked out on. I didn't know until I got there, that there were 57 steps to get to it, lol:

We did the mile hike up to the natural bridge. First quarter mile was flat, but after that, it kept going up, and up, and up...longest 3/4 mile of my life, haha. Lotsa steps:

Was hoping to see a bear, but didn't:

Top of the bridge. They said it was 30 ft. wide:

Some small lizard with a blue belly, I thought was pretty cool:

Nada Tunnel, on the Nada Tunnel Road, in the Daniel Boone National Forest/ Red River Gorge area. Single lane tunnel made through the mountian:

Blurry photo, but inside the tunnel:

Chimney Rock overlook. This was one beautiful place. Photos do it no justice at all. Your out on the end of a narrow ledge, giving you a nearly 360° view:

We had a blast here. We're hoping to return in the fall, when the weather is cooler, and the leaves are changing. Lots more area to explore. This was my first time in Kentucky. Very pretty area. Wouldn't mind living here.

Great pics as always Dubz and a grand place indeed. You should check out the Big South Fork sometime too. Kentucky ain't too bad is it? :D

Glad you had a good time.

That is some of the most beautiful country I ever saw! I must go there. That cabin looks like my dream house LOL

My brother lives less then 2 hours from there. next time I go see him we may have to run over!

Is the Big South Fork in the same area? Kentucky is great, loved it.

We do have some pretty nice scenery, don't we? :) I remember going to Natural Bridge many years ago when I was in high school. It was a pretty cool place. You managed to get some really nice pictures. :)

wow. i would never have guessed there was country like that in kentucky. thanks for all the great pics warrior.

I always enjoy your photography. Thanks for sharing.
I'm over worked. I need a vacation. But hopefully with a better start than yours. lol. Looks like you had an awesome time.

I thought the pictures needed a song. Rivendell by Rush :)
This song reminds me of the woods I've been through and how I long for them.
The pictures just now reminded me of the song. Really beautiful Warrior

Sunlight dances through the leaves
Soft winds stir the sighing trees
Lying in the warm grass
Feel the sun upon your face

Eleven songs and endless nights
Sweet wine and soft relaxing lights
Time will never touch you
Here in this enchanted place

I've traveled now for many miles
It feels so good to see the smiles of
Friends who never left your mind
When you were far away

From the golden light of coming dawn
Till the twilight when the sun is gone
We treasure every season
And every passing day

You feel there's something calling you, you're wanting to return
To where the misty mountains rise and friendly fires burn
A place you can escape the world where the dark Lord cannot go
Peace of mind and sanctuary by loud water's flow

We feel the coming of a new day
Darkness gives way to light a new way
Stop here for a while until the world
The world calls you away

Yet you know I've had the feeling
Standing with my senses reeling
This is the place to grow old 'til
I reach my final day

You feel there's something calling you, you're wanting to return
To where the misty mountains rise and friendly fires burn
A place you can escape the world where the dark lord cannot go
Peace of mind and sanctuary by loud water's flow

Love the photos! Makes me homesick!! Only about another year and a half and I will be moving back to God's country!!

That is some beautiful country there. Great photos.

One thing, those Beckers are way too pretty. You haven't used and abused them enough yet. :-)

Charlie

Brilliant photos!

We've been rockclimbing in the Natural Bridge/Red River Gorge area since the early 90s. It's a very beautiful part of the US.
