Neck Knives: I'm torn between a few. Help!

to confuse you even more... take a look at Mission MPU, it's 7in OAL and you can get it from our 1sks for $133.99. The reason I've mentioned this is that recently I'm considering to buy it myself.

Do NOT buy a Spyderco Spot! I love the knife, but the new sheath is way to tight. Great little knife. CRAPPY sheath!!!!!!!!!

Slightly off topic, but if someone wants a neck knife that is normally a tad too heavy for one, JSP sells his chest strap, which is a strap that goes around your chest, tab closure, and is adjustable and contains stretch material to allow you to breath, with the neck knife sheath going underneath it. Even for lightweight neck knives, it keeps the knife indexed where you expect it to be when you go for it. And last - if you bend over a bit, you don't get that dangling, swaying action going on that tells folks you have a neck knife on.

I will be trying out a Talonite Bitteroot pretty soon, happy to say.

For folks with bucks, the Hartsfield Kozuka and RJ Martin Kozuka gives a lot of cutting and real easy carry. RJ's knife is held in with rare earth magnets, while Hartsfield's is friction fit in a leather covered aluminum sheath. Hartsfield's entire package is a lot leaner and lighter in general, both knives with cord wrapped handles.

Do you have the older version or the new version (with a stud on the blade)? The new version tends to be very tight as shipped, but it is fully adjustable. Get a couple of Allen wrenches and loosen the screw in the top outside corner. You can loosen up the sheath as much as you like.

I hope you love yours as much as I love mine. :D

I've seen all sorts of clever designs for low-profile neck knives, but the most effective technique is still to make the knife really thin and really short.
