NECKA HAMMER-IN! deadline approaching

note on the rope warehouse supplier... We're going to take a little trip down the road about 5 minutes to their warehouse... there is a big open house sale so you can see all of their product not just the every day stuff.
these guys are big. they've supplied rope for many movies (pirates, master and commander etc) but their customer service is amazing. there will very knowledgeable staff they can help direct you to the right product for your needs, and members of the international guild of knot tyers to help teach you those funky knots. we'll spend an hour or so there looking around and hanging out. don't quote me but i think the sale will be 10% and up on specific items. this is gonna be great!:D:thumbup:

We extended the deadline as far as we dared to, to one week before the hammer/in,
taking it to May 10th .
Mike needs the time to order supplies where this is a two day event to make sure every one gets their share of Food for the two days
so we'll be limited on how many we can except after the 10th

I'm sure we'll be able to slide a few more guys and gals in,, after the dead line but that will be on a first come first serve basis only.
where as after may 10th, food will be the deciding factor as to how many more we can take.

set up will be starting Friday afternoon may 16th, any volunteers would be great
there are acres of tenting room also, if you live away and don't want to stay in a local motel .

Any idea what time we can get on site Friday? also any idea what time the wheelbarrow, straw, cement blocks and charcoal will be there?

just trying to plan smelting setup

I'd say any time friday afternoon if no one should be there you'll have the run of the out side..
Mike will be picking up the rest of the supplys tomorrow and will be there, I think in the afternoon too to start food prep ..
Jerry said he'd get the W/B , I don't have a clue to when he'll be there with that.

Actually, historically a vast amount of forging WAS done naked, because clothing was expensive and burning up good clothes was worse than burning oneself if you weren't careful.
 
NOW our fearless mod Mark does it nakie, so he's said,, personally I haven't seem him do that and I'm not sure I'd want to either :eek:................ a short thought about that and I'm sure I don't :D

a good leather apron would help greatly

With the weather and all what it is, I think I'll drive in tomorrow morning since i only live 40 minutes away =P That said i'll be there bright and early around 7 to 7:30

I had a great time the weather was perfect other than the very first of the first morning like 1/2 hour :thumbup:

Seriously, Mace wherinthehell were you you missed out on some great grub! Besides Justin and I were the only spiritual descendants of Thor there, but we did spread the gospel of the hammer :D

Mike, Dan etc. Thanks for a great event, lookin forward to next year! (hopefully I'll be able to afford a hotel by then)

maybe you'll catch more of the stuff going on , if not chained to the charcoal eater you could have had more fun I'm sure.. it was good,, and thanks for the smelt Demo,, it was very informative :thumbup:
