NECKA HAMMER-IN. We will be having one in October at my shop here in New Bedford, Mass. Date will be confirmed on the 1st week in October. Open for suggestions on demos and contests. At the present time it looks like we will have a 35 limited head count. So first come first served.

Grasshoppa: Lets figure out what we should cook. Maybe a big pot of kale soup????? We had that last year for the fall HI. :)

Hey I.G., not sure what my schedule is for October, but put me in as tentative pending the final date. Also I would try to get over ahead of time to help get ready if I can. As for some ideas, I think everybody that saw Ray Richard do the hawk demo would agree that hawks were a hot topic. Since I am so newto this whole thing, I can think up all kinds of demos. How about pouring pewter bolsters, leather sheath work, primitive knives with rawhide/sinew wraps, bluing a blade, dying antler, stick tang construction, playing with deer leg bones (already in your stabilizing setup right?) the list is long when you are a newbie! Also did you guys give any thought to a little fundraising idea for the club? Mike was full of suggestions was'nt he?

george i'm going to try to stop by tomorrow morning if not will you be at the show this weekend? we can write down ideas and discuss demos and fundraising so we can get the goods and get rid of the bad then post it and see what the members and some of the forumites that might be going think of our ideas.

As long as it's not the weekend of the 9th count me in. Got the Ohio/Koval show that weekend. I gotta see if I can get Ed to split the driving with me.

Edited to add...
I'd love to see Ray's hawk demo, pouring pewter bolsters and blade blueing that Jay M. mentioned. I've still got some blueing salts I haven't even tried yet.

Jay, Actually when I did the demo it was the first time I used a Bud as a hammer. It does work.

IG, Sounds like you'll need to get at least two 5 gallon bucks for this one. Has the skunk come by for a visit?
