IG,
If I can get it ready, do you think I could turn a Buffalo horn cylinder on your lathe?

I'll be bringing some Yuengling Lager myself, Can't start out with rice beer.

What time are people showing up? Im gonna get up bright and early....hope the weather is nice. Right now the forecast says 30% chance rain, in the mid 50's.....

I decided not to bring the oven unless anyone specifically wants to see it...

Is there a schedule anywhere? I'm also wondering when I should show up... do I need to take the fast car or should I take the truck... hmmmm

Did they say PM showers?????? Partly sunny in the AM????
We start setting up at 7:00 AM. So anytime after that.:D

They are saying "showers" now....stupid weather. Wasnt last fall kiinda poor weather, as well?

I hope to be leaving Salem around 7:30 or so....im pretty psyched! Got my cutter almost ready for the competition....it hasnt seen much action yet so it will be a good test!

Ill be crossing my fingers on the weather....

IG,
1 1/8" Dia 4 1/2" long, will have tapped holes in both ends so I can chuck it up nice with a fitting.

Should turn easy but might smell some, have to go slow and won't dull the bits.

Could use an outside caliper to get it more better, almost all my mach stuff was stolen several years ago and I never replaced it. don't have access to shop tools any more.

I will be there bright and early. More bleary eyed than most but I'll be there early. IG my dad wanted to come down to watch. Would there be room?

Sure he still has to pay the $30 and wear safety glasses.

Yep!!! We got rained on last fall. The people that plan on entering to cutting competition should bring rain gear. I'll have two canopies up so we shouldn't get to wet.:D :D

Most people do not arrive till around 9:00 am. That's when the demo's start. We have lollipop sticks for the first 10 people that arrives. The sticks have a piece of 1" cable weld to them, so some of the attendees will go home with a billet of cable damascus.:D :D

can't wait got a new cutter ready i think i'll do some testing tonight:D i'll be picking up some beer after work and heading down in the morning:D

see you there
david

I'll be bringing down a half dozen railroad spikes if anyone wants them. Found them while I was aimlessly wandering the railroad tracks last weekend.

Been working on my cutter, too....just need to make some sort of makeshift kydex sheath tonight and attach a lanyard....

I would love to twist and hammer on one of those railroad spikes if someone wants to show me how to do the twisting....

I am going to bring some extra stuff I have if anyone wants it. I have a sheet of Kaowool someone can use for a forge that I don't need anymore and may collect some stuff from the shop that I dont want. Anyone run a 2 X 42 belt sander? I think I have some belts that I dont need....

Hey Tick Tock, I'm probably one of the few guys still using a Sears 2x42. Bring the belts and lets make a deal!

I pickup most of the goodies for the HI. 43# of pork butts ( would of been more is Higgy lived closer).10 # of the butts will be smoked and BBQ and the rest a Cacoila, 10# of octopus, 5# of mussels and the rest of the fixings. OH!!! BOY!!! A feast fit for a King.:D :D :D

Man, I'm glad I ixnayed the idea of bbq'ing some pork shoulder! We'd be swimming in the stuff! ...not that this is necessarily a bad thing!:D

...so someone remind me of what the heck I'm forgetting to pack before I start the 8 hour drive out tomorrow morning, okay?
