I whipped up a few of my Button Neckers for blade. I always battle with the neck lanyard.... Break-away or permanent? I usually go with ballchain unless otherwise specified. The customer is free to change it. What are your thoughts?

No opinion on the neck lanyard, but those are sweet knives and sheaths and that's an ingenious way you've come up with for securing the knife in the sheath. Very cool!

I like everything about the knives and sheaths, I also prefer the chains myself. Where did you find the ball studs at?

The wife just walked by, looked over my shoulder, and said "Oh! Those are nice..."

...see ya in Atlanta

I like the knife and sheath design quite a bit. I'd prefer a rawhide cord myself given the overall style for two reasons.

1) I've never had the cord on a neck knife snag on anything.
2) I like to carry small fixed blades on a "static cord" - loop the cord around your belt buckle and drop the knife in your pocket. Makes it easy to retrieve and impossible to lose the sheath. Doesn't work well with a chain.

Man, those are really nice! Excellent design! I'd love to get my hands on one of those someday!

As far as the neck lanyard goes, I like the breakaway characteristics of a ball chain, but I don't like the way it feels on my neck. So, to remedy that, I usually run the chain down the same size length of gutted 550 cord. It will still break away, but is much more comfortable to ride! Just my .02!

Regardless, those neckers are badass!!!

If you don't mind me asking, do you use epoxy or something similar to hold your cord wraps in place?

They are soaked in West Systems 105/207 or 205 epoxy.

Chainring.... yur killin me, bud... I gotta have something for the show.

I personally have permanent neck cordage on my neck knives, even though I am aware of the inherent danger. I keep fully functional 550 paracord on em and I've never had an issue. I think if I was a knife maker and I was selling them, I might use a breakaway design just to keep stupid people from suing my ass if they end up choking themselves...

Love the neckers though! How easy are these little guys to remove and re-sheath? Sign me up for 69 of them. PM Sent. ;)

Sweet... Dude!

Dude.... Sweet!

Either way I like 'em. :D I have a necker I wear around the house and I prefer the regular paracord over the gutted or the beaded chain. I have long hair so the bead chain doesn't fly for me but I like the look of it and the fact that it will break away.

I'd go with a big gold rope chain if I were you Rick... Mr.T style!

The chain inside paracord is a pretty neat idea. I have problems with chains/cords/etc. irritating my neck and it looks like a good compromise.

Shhhhhhhh.... don't tell anyone.... but I prefer paracord or leather for my personal neck items, too. I have never had a problem because I wear them on the inside of my clothing. Sure, someone could sneak up on you and try to choke you with your own lanyard... but that's what I am counting on.... mooooaah-ah-ah-ah!
