Neckties and Traditional knives

Bit of a special one (to me).

The necktie and knife I'll be sporting when I get married this Saturday! :D

One of the best things about being an adult is deciding whether I want to wear a tie or not. I generally choose NOT; so I had to go back about 3 yrs to find this picture. Accessorizing, for the win, lol

Guess what happened next...
This is the kind of garbage one finds in Australian charity shops...

Even for 50c ...ah well I suppose I helped out a charity...and as an added bonus get to desecrate an icon of NZ.
Ironically it's an E NZ O blade...with some good old Aussie buffalo scales made by yours truly.

My first ever GECs featured here with my very l fastest purchases from Lifeline op shop...fiddy cents ea.
The garish red stripey one is hand made Chinese silk.
The other I liked because of its interesting Fred Flintstones nightmare design.
Cheers.

I don't have any exotic ties, nor exotic knives. But do often combined my ties and knives.

Then I thought a magnet might be a better connector than the gator clip. And opened the door to many more knives.

Now I use pretty much any knife around the size of a peanut, or smaller. I really don't wear ties often (2-3 times per month), so now I could probably go a year before anyone might see me wearing the same knife (tie tack) twice.

Your idea of using magnets is totally inspired, and inspiring!! As soon as I can get strong enough magnets, I'm SO going to implement your approach! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup::) That Tabasco tie is a tasty hot one!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Cool pics, Dave! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
The sewing photos got my wife interested! ;) She has a Baby Lock machine just like your wife's. :cool::thumbsup: (At least to me they look identical. ;))
I started wearing suspenders instead of a belt back in April (my wife and daughter forbid me to use both :confused::(), and almost from Day 1, I've considered finding a small "horizontal carry" sheath that I could wear on my suspenders. Your photo gives me some validation that I'm not completely nuts! :rolleyes: I wear the cheap clip-on-waistband adjustable suspenders, so there's a double layer of elasticized fabric in the front between the adjusting bar and the pants. I'll probably go for "concealed carry" with the sheath "strap" around the inner layer of the suspender and the sheath vertically sandwiched between the 2 layers.

Bit of a special one (to me).
