Bailey Bradshaw recently announced a new model for him. It combines the integral frame concept of the Cook Lochsa with the Sawby Self-Lock for a nifty looking and unique knife. He had a number of them for sale in the Makers' Exchange earlier this month.

Im new to spydercos, but you get nice bang for the buck.I orderd a manix and a Chinook 3...both are hefty , very sharp and really unoticeable in the pocket. check out the military in D2 i think i might snag one of those next....

My edc's do rotate a bit. The most common currently are a Large, Classic Sebenza, a Kershaw Lahar, and a ZT0300.

Once there was talk of a Busse folder, but any mention of it these days is just wishful thinking and speculation,. Closest thing is the Swamp Rat Rat Trap folder, which is a beast.

As for good Spydie sellers try New Graham Knives:

Savson Swords and Knives:

I used to. I think the only one's left are a 635 and a Switchback. The 635 is an LE and kept only because it was a gift from my wife. The ergo's kinda stink for me and the funky thumb ramp ridges rip everything as it extends from my pocket.

The 921 Switchback is actually pretty neat!

Gone are the 630, 940, Ares, and 960.

I would like to have a 710-D2 and a Morpho.

I say get a seb.
Or if you can find one get a XM-18
here is a pic of it next to a MS
plus you can get it in a flipper or non flipper and you can buy different color scales for it :)

I know I've got a 710-D2 commin my way for xmas (provided it makes it past customs - stinkin' ass-hats!), which I requested based off a lot of reviews.

I'll be glad to see what it's like! Fairly inexpensive, but should be nice!

Another vote for the Hinderer XM-18. I EDC mine every day. Love it.:thumbup:

Another nice thing about them, and most Hinderer folders I believe, is that you have the option for tip up or tip down carry, and can change it back & forth as much as ya please.. See the image of the back.
:)

Without hesitation, I recommend the Spyderco Manix or Mini-Manix for there extreme stoutness and full flat grind. They come very sharp in S30V. These are both back locks. For a frame lock try the ATR. Someone already mentioned the Para Military with its compression lock. I don't have the Para but I do have a Li'l Temperance with the compression lock and as was mentioned above, it's very stout.

Manix:

I will second the MANIX vote. Not a tougher folder to be had anywhere near it's price range. Also, the CHINOOK is the same build just a different blade design

I am a fan of the Sebenza, Strider SnG, Manix, Military, and Victorinox Adventurer. I gravitate toward the SnG on a daily basis. It is quite rugged, and even though I bent the tip, it fills the niche nicely.

I had an Emerson Super CQC-7, great knife on all sides, but I now carry a Zero Tolerance ZT-302 and it is without a doubt, the toughest knife I have ever carried. I would put it up against ANY folder on the planet. S30V, Titanium framelock, textured G10 front scale, DLC blade coating, flipper, speed safe, wide recurve blade and it is large enough to do almost anything. I would atleast try to find one you could hold and look at, it is worth every penny. Thanks, Merry Christmas, Jason.

Nobody's got any love for Benchmade folders?

I have two that I carry frequently. The one that gets workday EDC rotation with my fancy slip joints is a 3100 Automite. On weekends or other days when I'm not going to have to pass through the gauntlet at work, I carry a full-sized 630 Skirmish.

The 3100 has a nifty lock/release mechanism that is nearly impossible to inadvertently release. It is the only auto that I trust to carry in my front pocket.

The Emerson's are as tough as they come, but very heavy.

I like the Senenza's better than any folder I have owned, and that's alot.

Ken, will you say more about the micarta inlays on those Sebbies?

I've sold every metal-handled production knife I've ever owned. This includes CRKTs, Bucks, Benchmades, and Sebenzas. I just don't like the lack of grip and the cold metal during the winter.

I have, however, eyed the very knives you picture above and wondered if those micarta inlays make that much difference. Is there at least one on the other side?

As for the Sebenzas, they are pure quality, and the only frame lock knife I've seen that rivals them is the Hinderer I recently received on passaround. They are bank vaults.

As for the folders, I carry... usually some sort of Spyderco with G-10. Spyderco just does a great job with their grippy G-10, and the knives are almost always excellent. Current EDC is a Spyderco Caly III.

I've sold every metal-handled production knife I've ever owned.

I lied. I do still have a stainless steel Spyderco Dragonfly with my monogram engraved on it. My wife got it for me to take on flights. Of course, this was pre-9/11.

There is one on the other side.

Thanks. I thought there was one.

Another vote for the XM-18. I hope to score one some day. Or an Airkat.

But until then I really like the Spyderco Lil Temp. Best ergonomic handle I have ever held. Plus it has a compression lock. A little tank. My EDC.
