Need a good lightweight knife under 2" in length for suit carry

I'd go with the case peanut or tiny trapper, nothing says office friendly like a small slipjoint 👍

When a suit is required, I generally carry a "dressy" traditional - usually my GEC 62 (2 blade, in birdseye maple)
My plan is to purchase a CRK Mnandi...but I haven't found the right one, yet. (admittedly, I was intrigued by the image showing it used as a tie clip; but I probably wouldn't carry it that way)

Here is a side by side of some of what you mentioned in the original post along with a couple of the suggestions. IMO it is hard to go wrong with any of them, but getting to choose between a few is the way to go. My current favorite out of the bunch is the #14 GEC Tom's Choice Lick Creek Barlow, but that is subject to sudden and frequent change. I also add a AAA flashlight to the rotation...if you couldn't already tell from the picture

Thanks for the visual. I just picked up a lick creek, a kiwi, and a dragonfly for test drives. I keep changing my mind on the Air...maybe if I see one in the sale forum for a good price I'll pick it up.

Opinel is good but the way it shapes itself in your pocket is awkward, like some sort of big long bulge that is quite noticeable so it is mainly carried in my bag. Laguiole offers a good range of gent knives, if you want the knife really discret they started making those paper thin knives where there is only the knife and one liner. Or if for the other options there is the 940-1 0sborne with the carbon which is a good lightweight and chic material. Then there is the Mnandi, you can't go wrong with this one , classic with damascus steel and a wide range of handle options. The slysz bowie by spyderco great knife, quality is superb although a bit more aggressive and less people friendly since it copies a bowie style (duh XD) also bigger and beefier then the knives listed above but still a great knife. Then there is a great liste if custom knives listing from shirogorov to grismo norseman the small sebenza 21 with carbon fiber from knife works. Check out kifeworks if you haven't already they bring a new look to knives on the fancy side . Spyderco domino, chaperral. And the Mcusta MC-76D pretty good actually damas steel/ vg10 ebony handle i received it today so i am quite jolly XD. But of course the list goes on, anyway hope you find the knife you want;) .

I would defiantly go with the SAK. I know they're plain Jane but the extra goodies will be worth it, especially since a small 2 layer SAK isn't really any thicker than a Barlow or other single blade knives. You get 4 blades/tools for the bulk of one.

Haven't seen a suggestion for it yet, but maybe the Ken Onion Eros would fit the bill (just trying to play devil's adovcate and throw out yet another suggestion to help make your decision easy ;))? There's a 'premium' version that's got a 3" blade made from Acuto+ with titanium handles:

Alternatively, there's a much cheaper version with a more minimalist flat handle available in two sizes:

http://www.crkt.com/eros-large-flat-handle-folding-pocket-knife-K456XXP - 2.84" blade (AUS8)
http://www.crkt.com/eros-small-ss-flat-handle-folding-pocket-knife-K451XXP - 2" blade (AUS8)

I can't speak to the blade specifically, but in my experience, CRKT does a decent job with AUS8 and their IKBS ball bearing pivot system is super smooth (at least, it is on my Fossil Compact)!

There's also the chive/leek/scallion assisted knives. The smallest one, the chive, has a 2" blade, and the others having 2.5" and 3" blades. You can even get them in this cool rainbow finish.

I have the largest offering from this line-up in the Shallot with serrations, which has a 3.5" blade, and as such I can atest to the quality of this line of knives as well! +1 (also, I'm kicking myself for not remembering these!)

I know that it does not meet all of your requirements but consider the Benchmade 531 for a suit knife. I would normally recommend the Victorinox Cadet but I recently acquired a 531 and have found it to be a fantastic suit/office knife. It is so good, I may have to kick my other suit knives to the curb.
