need a good solid edc but still light

OP wants light. ZTs are not light. Not one of them. That's why I don't have one.
Time to wake up and smell the 0770CF, my friend. :) And to the OP, remove the torsion bar and the ZT 0770CF may just be the knife you're looking for.

To all the guys saying he described the PM2 I completely disagree. I just had a PM2 and got rid of it. The knife does not carry small.
That's for darn sure!

Spyderco Paramilitary 2, satin blade, G10 black handle, 3.3" long blade, S30V blade-steel. About $120 from one of our supporting knife-store vendors on this forum. If you had $300 to spend, I would still give you the same answer.
Don't sweat the Spydie-hole. It's efficient, easy and quick to learn. Besides, you are seldom in a hurry to open your knife, and I never "flick" mine open anyway. It's still the finest knife for you and for many of us, including me.

Benchmade AXIS lock fits your requests. I own Spyderco, but the blades are wider, so you wouldn't feel it to be slim.

Something not mentioned from BKC production models;

Presidio 154cm 3.47"
AXIS Stryker 154cm 904=2.94, 909=3.57"
HK 14715 D2 3.69"
484 Nakamura M390 3.08"
Torrent 154cm 3.6"
950 154cm 3.67"

But as others mentioned 531 (3.25"), 707 (2.95"), 943 are light and slim. I would highly recommend to check AXIS lock. One of the very few lock that can be opened and closed with either left or right handed. It is extremely strong, yet easy to operate.

If you are strictly thinking about 3.5" limit, 943/940 would be a good choice. Presidio may be a bit on heavy side (5.6 oz)

Benchmade 943 for sure. Carries super light, I threw a deep carry clip on and it disappears in my pocket. I snagged one second hand that the previous owner had stripped the black finish off the handle. Had a great feel and cuts/stabs like a dream. A slicey, stabby dream.

Literally my friends benchmade 940 osborne is smaller than my griptilian it only weights like 2.5oz or something around that. it has s30v 3.4 inch blade. i know others have already mentioned it but just wanted to second or third their opinions. Cant get a slimmer lighter better knife for what your looking for for the price.

Benchmade 940 or spyderco paramilitary 2 can't go Wrong with either! And s30v is an awesome steel!

OP I'm just going to ignore the fact you dislike thumb holes ;)

Because this truly is the blade you're looking for:

Spyderco Goddard FRN. 3.66" VG10 blade , 2.9 oz

Very slim:

Knife feels extremely light in hand despite offering such a large quality blade. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but personally I've seen worse looking blades.

I just Ordered a bm 940-1, .... Been looking at this knife for a while. Would fit your criteria too. That is my recomendation

Another vote for the 943. Here's mine after several years (some of them drunken) of exclusive carry at college:

I carried one exclusively for three years while in college. The 943 is very light, slim, easy to carry, and has enough blade length to deal with pretty much anything you might reasonably come across on a day to day basis. Mine has held up pretty well:
