Need some suggestions, the rule is
It must be available in a sponsored vendor of the forums and you can only choose one knife.

The question is what modern knife at about $100 or less would make you grin ear to ear to receive and why?

Probably a manix. I don't own a spyderco "yet" and I really like the looks of it.

H&K 14716BK-1 Mini Axis in Sand G-10.
Why? I grinned ear to ear when I got my first one. Gave it to my little brother yesterday, who grinned ear to ear when he got it.

Boker Plus Urban Trapper.
Why? Brad Zinker designed titanium framelock flipper with VG-10 steel and bearing pivot. Grinning just describing it to you. :D

My humble suggestion is to do a giveaway like the one I did. Announce the budget and have each entry post what they would like to recieve. That way everyone who enters is guaranteed to get something they like.

Fixed blades are less common in GAWs.
I suggest the KA-BAR 7502 Jarosz Globetrotter or esse 3.
It would make me grin because both are knives I like but probably will not get for myself as I have others that size.

Mini Grip. Why? I gave one to my son and it is his favorite, most-carried knife. I have been envious as hell, and would grin ear to ear if someone gave me one.

There are no doubt others that would have the same effect, but I know this one would.

Honestly this may sound crazy, but I've always wanted a spyderco ladybug in intl orange and still don't own one because I don't personally order knives and haven't found them in stores anywhere.
I love small lightweight secondary folders and I think that intl orange is the perfect color for them because they're easy to spot if you set them down.

Well crap, that is a tough one. Browsing my favorite forum supported dealer, I immediately spotted a dozen models that have been on my buy list for quite some time. But not pulled the trigger, usually comes down to finances and/or other knives edging out by just a hair in interest. So the rest of them wait. Boker urban trapper (CF, or Ti), ka-bar coppersmith dogs head lockback (think made by CSC, but no longer), cold steel recon's or holdout in xhp, HK mini axis in brown (have the full size in black, and it's pretty sweet). And so many more.

But I have pretty knives, and I have performance knives, so if I had to pick right now, the edge would go to the Boker Plus WarToad. And I don't really know why. It's just odd looking and a little chunky, and I'm attracted to that sort of thing (other than my wife, chunky is not how I'd describe her tone 90#'s.). I have a tendency to both carry and use many of my odd knives. And it often gives the opportunity to spark up a knife conversation.

Very cool way to approach a GAW. Good luck.

Is that the tuffthumbs production knife ?

Pink mini grip. I think anyone with a good sense of humor would smile if they received that as a gift.

I really like the suggestion of the HK mini axis. It's an awesome knife and I think there's a lot of people that don't have one and don't know what they're missing out on.

I'm not sure what the original model name was, but TuffKnives is given credit for the design. It's a friction folder with an extended tang similar to a straight razor.

Yep that's the one.
I appreciate the innovation design and all, but it's a lot of bulk in a concentrated size.

Just a thought - I have a BNIB ZT 0566 Stonewashed Black G10 version for sale in The Exchange for $100 right now. That would probably do it for a lot of guys. If you want to go for it, I'll ship it to any BF member of your choice in the CONUS. Again, it's just a thought...

A Delica 4 or Endura. Why? Because I love Spyderco and always order higher end models, even though I know deep in my heart that either of these two would probably get more pocket time and be even better fits for my edc.

Let's just say this would be to a friend vs a GAW. Interestingly I've seen the urban trapper twice so far. Is that because it's a knife you normally wouldn't buy?

I picked one up recently and traded it. I loved the knife but it didn't fit my edc needs being a little big blade. Made for a great edc though.

I would second the delica. I've always wanted to pick one up, but It's just not quite on the top of my priorities. Slip joints usually win out when I'm in the <$100 price range.
