Need a little help in giving away a knife

Cold Steel Lucky. It's a slip joint, it's modern materials, multi-blades - aaahhhhh!

Manix LW........can't think of anyone that wouldn't smile opening the box on that bad boy!

I would think a Higo no kami would be a nice slim edc option for plenty of folks. On to of that, only those who genuinely want a friction folder would buy in.

For $100 you could probably get one of them, a svord, and another model to do a GAW with friction folders as 1st, 2nd and 3rd places...

Good luck and Thanks.

Just a thought - I have a BNIB ZT 0566 Stonewashed Black G10 version for sale in The Exchange for $100 right now. That would probably do it for a lot of guys. If you want to go for it, I'll ship it to any BF member of your choice in the CONUS. Again, it's just a thought...

Pretty good idea to use something from the exchange... that makes 2 people smile at the same time.
And this ZT would make me grin everytime I flipped it if I got this as a gift.
But living on my side of the pond usually disqualifies me anyway ;)

I've been through the lower range of knives. There might be some low priced folders that I would accept and be happy about, but the grin ear to ear folding knife would cost more than $100 new from a good retailer. It just seems to be the nature of things that a folding knife from a major manufacturer using a good steel such as 154 or S30V, with a good lock, with G10 scales, will cost a little over $100. (The skyline and Tenacious are exceptions and I already have a Tenacious.) Fixed blades might be a little easier, I would probably be real happy to receive certain Becker or Kabar models, maybe even Cold Steel, available for under $100. (Come to think of it I'm a little interested in the Cold Steel Recon 1 XL and it is under $100.)

Thanks, my friend. I thought it could work. Don't know if the OP is willing to ship overseas. I typically don't because of the extra expense. If it's a more expensive item, then I'm usually more willing to ship internationally. But spending $35 to ship a $100 item just seems silly to me. YMMV.

Ear to ear grin for me would be easy to achieve when I opened the box to a becker 5,7,9,10,15,16 or 17...i think you get the picture. Lol..

If you want to see a knife that will make you grin ear to ear, check out the deal DLT Trading has on limited edition SAK Farmers! The blue is the ultimate, outdoorsman pocket knife! Great blade, great awl and saw! Plus, it has class.

Just a heads up, they are planning on the 2016 bladeforums knife to come in around $100.

Would be a nice gesture to give away a knife that will be built to standards that would allow it to be passed down to a grandchild and support the forum in the process.

Go with a CRKT M16 14M or M16 14T. Both very sturdy dependable knives that are right in that price range. They are steals for the price. One should last you ten years of use.

My choice is the Bk2. 1/4 thick fixed blade. Love it.
