Hello all!

I’m looking for a new blade to go with my current EDC setup. I’m a big Bond fan, and my setup reflects it. I’d like something that keeps with the aesthetic, but doesn’t necessarily have to be tied to the Bond universe.

Current setup:
-Walther PPK or PPK/s, both black
-Omega Seamaster watch
-Brushed silver Zippo
-Fisher AG-7 or Capomatic pen
-Bosca leather card case

Requirements in a blade:
-$200 budget
-Folding
-NOT automatic (assisted is OK)
-Deep carry pocket clip
-3” or less blade
-NOT plastic handle (wood, g10, micarta, metal all OK)
-NOT a Spyderco (tried most of them, really don’t like their design)

Thanks for the help!

Check Fox, Lionsteel, or Extrema Ratio, depending on how tactical you're looking to go, and how much money you want to spend. I have the feeling that Bond would be okay with an Italian knife.

For bond, it's gonna be something classic, maybe even a slip joint. If it locks, it would be either some kind of Italian automatic, or a lock back. Handle made of horn, mother of pearl or a luxurious wood.
Blade could be patten welded, or not, going for more of a understated elegance.

I'd say look at some Italian makers. Lionsteel or Viper for something modern. I could really see him going for something like a titanium Lionsteel Thrill, with it's hidden clip feature. I suppose its possible he could've carried something English or American made, but with a knife for Bond I'm getting more of an Italian vibe. For something more period appropriate, You could also go for a French laguiole in horn. Or a German Hartkopf 290 or 292. None of those knives will have clips, and I don't think they should. Clip knives weren't around in the classic bond era.

Plastic handles, and adding aftermarket scales will put me over budget :(
I've had mine for going on 12 years plus or minus. The fiber reinforced resin that the scales are made of show basically zero wear. The blade and clip tell the story of whether the knife has been carried, used etc. Still solid as the day it came. My recommendation stands. :cool:View attachment 2357477

I don’t have any doubts they are durable, and I’ve had a few mini barrages over the years. I just hate the feel of plastic scales.

Halle Barry carried a boker speedlock II in die another day

Quantum of Solace a Masters of Defense (MOD) Harkins Triton Out-The-Front automatic knife can be seen. The knife is used by a bad guy attacking Bond.

That's all I can find. Bond doesn't do a lot of knives apparently
