Need a new blade for my edc setup…

In the last movie Bond cut an apple with what looks around 4" closed spearpoint slipjoint, and that was the only scene when he was using a knife. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If you put automatics on your list, I'm pretty sure I saw a mikov in the movie Quantum Solace. But my suggestion will be different. There's a theme to what you carry as EDC. They are all from different countries and can be considered the tops of this field (in their time). In my opinion, a Swiss watch, an Italian wallet, a German gun. A knife must be Japanese or have a Japanese touch. My recommendations are these two classics: Mcusta MC-EX-1 or Mcusta MC-143G

I bought a Mikov with dark horn scales, because it looked like the knife a villain had in Casino Royale.

But if autos are out, I think 007 might carry an Emerson Horseman, and though he never carried one, it resembles knives from several Bond films.

If you want it to be one that Bond "actually" carried, look here:

↑ Of those, the Benchmade Mini Griptilian would be my choice. I have one and I just love it. It could be my only tactical folder and I wouldn't be too badly off.

If you just want it to be something in the spirit or aesthetic of James Bond, I think the Benchmade Arcane is a good one. They're $270 - 300 new, but I found a decent one on ebay that needed service for $150, then sent it into Benchmade for the service. It's an assisted flipper. Scales are smooth, so there's no traction, but it's very elegant and ergonomically-shaped. I think S90v is probably my favorite steel now too:

Hello all!

I’m looking for a new blade to go with my current EDC setup. I’m a big Bond fan, and my setup reflects it. I’d like something that keeps with the aesthetic, but doesn’t necessarily have to be tied to the Bond universe.

Current setup:
-Walther PPK or PPK/s, both black
-Omega Seamaster watch
<snip>
By the way, have your PPKs been reliable? These days, 380 ACP is considered marginally effective. Might not be worth risking your life to carry that, if the time comes to put it into service. It is thin and elegant, though, and the Arcane would match it perfectly. What does modern Bond carry for a small pistol? I have a Sig P365 that is about the size of a PPK, but in 9 mm Luger, it has a lot more power as well as higher capacity.

I had a Seamaster Pro similar to what Brosnan Bond wore. Mine was the 2254 though, with the black dial and sword hands instead of the blue with the skeletonized hands. Handsome watch and I miss it, but mine was gray market and hand alignment wasn't good, so no biggy.

-Brushed silver Zippo
-Fisher AG-7 or Capomatic pen
-Bosca leather card case

Requirements in a blade:
-$200 budget
-Folding
-NOT automatic (assisted is OK)
-Deep carry pocket clip
-3” or less blade
-NOT plastic handle (wood, g10, micarta, metal all OK)
-NOT a Spyderco (tried most of them, really don’t like their design)

Thanks for the help!
