...to carry to the jungle with me this month. Not a RAT knife...I'm sick of those but someone else's knife. Some type of small fixed blade or folder. Will have a cheap machete but it would be nice to take something new, use it and take some photos. Any ideas?

In a jungle environment I would highly recomend stainless steel because of moisture from the rain forest. Some suggestions for a small fixed blade would be a Fallkniven F1 or S1, Benchmade Rant DP or Buck AG Vanguard. Suggestions for a folder might be a Spyderco Manix 2 (I am liking my S90V FFG), Spyderco Military or Benchmade 710.

I love Spyderco knives. How about one of their H1 knives (the Salt line)?

H1 is well-known for it's anti-rust properties and work-hardened edge. Plus they come in yellow handles so if you drop them, you can easily find em. ;)

I have used some of your suggestions down there on past trips: F1, Vanguard, Military. Also used a BM last go 'round.

How about a custom? Some really cool one-off designs available here on bladeforums. I'd love to see one of those customs really being put through its paces in a realistic setting.

If you want something small how about the newest one by this crazy dude? :D

I be liking this a lot. Bark River has too many models to choose from!

How about the BRK Gunny. I'd love to hear how it performed for you.

I took a Blind Horse down a few trips back. Great knife.
