Need Advice: What to let go?

I know what you mean, bro. When necessity requires extra funds and some luxury items must go, deciding which one is the hard part.

For me it is easier to pare down what will stay first:

1- Users stay. They're users for a reason - they work well and fit me. (HHFSH mag, etc.)
2- Holy grail blade. One or two fit that category. (Custom SFNO.)
3- Safe queen customs/protos/one-offs etc. They're the first to go. (Custom MS.)

One of the easiest things to define the criteria of acceptable losses revolves around one of my tenets for collecting: All of the blades, even safe queens, must be blades that COULD become (and might, even) become users one day. If the blade doesn't fit me... if I wouldn't want it as a potential user, it is the first to go. I sold a couple of examples recently just because they didn't fit my grip. (FFBM Sage with standard grip.)

I say use the insurance check now and try to hold off on liquidating. If you do start selling stuff, I'd consider anything you have multiples of and then safe queens. As for the proto set, I'd keep one and let the other two go. However, I'm not into collecting at all. Everything gets used it or gets gone. I don't even own a safe:D

I am in a slightly similar situation, but with much less urgency it sounds like and without that insurance check. Hang onto the "Taking it to your Grave" blades at any cost. Ditch them only as a last resort.

Just my $.02 worth...

Easy here. You know, if you get drunk and you're willing to wear a loin cloth, then maybe you'll be willing to carry a pretty purse too. Don't believe me? Just ask...ummm...:D...well, I think you can figure out who I'm talking about. :foot:

Yeah, right. Add $10 to that $3.53 and you'd get a purse and put on heels with that loin cloth:eek:

Just got idea- do it, take a pic and sell it on ebay. I'll give you $5 if you do...who else would send Jason $5 if he does it ?

Not that I would want to see it. But it would be to funny....what am I thinking, he DOES have standards
 
I'm in for $5 but I don't want to see the pic. :) Make it $10 if he wears fishnet hose!

on a side note...I have had hundreds of Busse's but I keep the ones I use, along with a couple, well a few safe Queens that I may use some day....

But honestly....send me the Protos and I'll keep them safe for you ;)

Doggone it, I've been trying all day...the best I can come up with is $2.97 in dimes and nickles. Can I skip the photos and do some drawings instead???:D
