Need Advice: What to let go?

What's a Proto worth anyway?????

piglet

whatever you're willing to pay for it.

Jason, do not get rid of anything you really love, because it will not come back, unlike the old saying.
However, if you have duplicates getting rid of them is ok I guess

What he said!!!
4 years ago I traded my Girlfriend and her dog for a boat, and boy I can't tell you how much I still miss that dog...
;)

I sure do, how many do you want/need?

Well I kind of want one; a thinner one... but I don't think I want it badly $enough$;)

When I saw one I was disappointed... it just looks like a big SH. Now that may be just great if you are a SH fan but for me it is one of those knives that -other than to sell some day- I can't figure out what the h#ll I'd use it for:confused:

It is easily the most devastating chopper Busse has produced....that I have used. Thin edge, feels great and the Steel Heart IS the Flagship, sooooo one on Steroids is just the key....hell my wife like it so much she MADE me buy all 3!

That is not a lie, there are witnesses:thumbup::thumbup:

Sounds like a challange so lets have a blade08 chopoff. Simple physics though, given the same edge the FFBM will outchop everything else on the block.

Some day, I must explain Moment of Inertia and Products of Inertia to my color-enabled friend!

Sadly, it ain't that easy!! It's on!!!

I wonder what Cobalt is willing to wager?

I've got a mojo that I think will give his FFBM a run for the money.

Given the same edge on a Gurkha THAT would be the best chopper, but it doesn't have the same edge, and I have a FFFFBM and the Proto still whips its ass.

No need, I use to do them all the time and they are complicated when things do not remain constant as in a simple pendulum motion, much like gyroscopic motion calcs when can also be complicated. However, when you make several factors into constants for simplicity's sake, you can make certain assumptions. And that is why I say "bring it":D

There are many trees around the waverly:eek:

A chopoff would be awesome if I can make it to Blade08! A perfect opportunity to pit my FABM up against a Proto FBM, FBMLE, FFBM, SHBM, or even a AK. I will still be chopping when you guys are tired from swinging those monsters :p

How about this? Chopping through 10 sections of 2X4 timed ? Chopping must be done with one hand only in case someone wants to use a AK :D. Prize for the lowest time? Well umm...... Bragging rights :thumbup:

great idea. But lets put it out to 2x6 or 8 boards for a bit more resistance. Game on. who's in?:D

:thumbup::thumbup: Witness # 1, present!

Seriously, I came down to Knob Creek with an eye to purchase other blades - got a hand around a Proto and never let it go! For me, it felt like the culmination of the perfect big chopper. I like the drop point - mid thickness between a FSH and an LE - perfectly fat, hand sculpted grips. Personally, I sold the sage FFBM to a fine, whiskered Rat because the feel was all wrong for me with standard grips.

Sounds like we should invite Cliff to come down to Atlanta as the neutral tester. :D

I would put $20 down for his airline ticket just for "banned" Cliff to make it to Blade for the first time. Heck, I would make even vid documentary to produce and sell afterwards! Just follow him around, taping the interaction with manufacturers, and put the "chop-off" in as the halftime event!

:foot: Oops... I digress. :o:p

Excellent! Good discussion. Those calculations are a matter of very serious concern for spacecraft -- especially when the bodies involved are articulated (and usually in multiple dimensions).

These knives are relatively simple bodies. The very best way to figure this out -- is to TRY it out. Cobalt has the right approach.

Blade will be very interesting in '08!

Not sure if I have the right knives. Or, especially, the right technique (which is one element we've neglected so far -- I think technique will be crucial here).

However...I'll give some thought to a prize. There ought to be a prize, after all.

Perhaps something cool...and liquid...to refresh both the winner and the 'other contestants.' :D

As for a judge -- I believe I'd rather have Amy-o oversee the proceedings, just speaking for myself...

...

EXACTLY:D

For that reason you can even include HOFSH's. They could easily be contenders if ou know what your doing with them.

I would throw in $20 bucks to see Cliff there as well. We can put a concealed camera on his shirt and see him interact with all the knifemakers:eek:

Agreed on both accounts :thumbup::thumbup:

Looks like this competition could be opening up a bit further!

BTW, anyone object to single malt as a possible emollient for the competition -- and as a possible prize for the proud but dehydrated winner?

Just thinking out loud...

I'm in (if I can make it).

I don't care what the prize is, but there must be side bets (Grinducci?).
