need gentleman's knife recommendation - it's complicated :)

Not sure what you'll be using it for, but if your usage is light enough for a ceramic blade, I'd suggest the Boker Anti MC.

Very slim, very light, very sexy and also very inexpensive! I don't say "cheap" because his knife has quality materials.

Not sure why I didn't think of it earlier, considering I bought it for the exact reasons, and it is one of my own "gentleman folders", (I'm not much of a gentleman though these days, so it gets little pocket time, out of sight out of mind I guess), but:

CRKT Pazoda, a great sleek little solid framelock knife, simple minimalist steel design gives is a real classy look and keeps it pretty thin. Super easy opening and closing with one hand, and a deep carry clip for just $20
(And it comes on 2 smaller sizes if the 3" model is too big for your liking/need/preference).

The handle is actually brushed stainless, I had to get it just right to avoid a glare that kept ruining pics, but looks real nice with the steel body contrasting with the black coated blade...

Case makes some fine looking traditional patterned one hand openers such as the Trapper lock and Russ lock.

I'd say Boker Exskelibur. Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but is definitely within your price range. Nice drop-point blade, super-smooth look (front flipper means no nail nicks or thumb studs), and a variety of handle material options.

Benchmade 530 or preferably the 531. You might have to try to find the 531 used to get it into the price range, but it will be well worth it. Perfect length, width, and weight. So slim and light that it practically disappears in your pocket, and I don't need to explain how much of a dream the axis lock is.

Anything that Great Eastern Cutlery makes :)

except for that "one-handed / slim" requirement i have.. i'm actually not a fan of the traditional knives at all .. i like slim/sleek types that feel great in hand.. i just ordered the following:
boker urban trapper
G10 Cryo
Buck vantage pro
Kershaw volt 2
Kershaw volt ss

I'll post back when I get them with my very picky comments :)

update: didnt realize I can embed video. Here's the overview of the first 3 knives I received. Now that I have them, I realize I'm looking for something smaller/slimmer/lighter. Any recommendations?

Boker Plus Gentleman's Knife 01BO026: Nice, inexpensive... no pocket clip though, if that matters to you. Honestly, wait until you try the Urban Trapper, might be it.

Military Ti that you like is totally no-no for a "good looking office environment" knife. As such any knife that flies open, locks with a "thwack", etc. will raise eyebrows and may not be suitable for office environments. Having said that, you missed a critical piece of information - preferred blade size. Going by the office bit, 3" is the most comfortable office size in my experience (I am in San Francisco, and work in a big software company). As texasshipagent indicated, "anything GEC" fits office perfect, but violates several of your other requirements. Killing Spyderco off the race, takes off a good many quality knives in an affordable price point (interestingly when I started with knives, I did find Spyderco designs to be repulsive, but actually ended up loving them!).

Have you considered Benchmade Griptilian (or the mini, depending on your preference for blade length)? BM has a deep pocket clip that they send for free, and the knife doesn't have tactical-nijna looks, so may work well for an office environment.

But be warned, IMO, only GEC (or similar traditional knives) are truly accepted in a typical white-collar office environment, none of the modern folders are.

Yeah the blade size should be 3" or smaller .. i think my bigger issue is thickness. most knives have thicker handles cause it's more comfortable, but i hate feeling any bulk in my pockets so the flatter the knife, the better. I am now considering trying a spyderco just to see it in person .. maybe the Cat or something like that .. i just don't like that they don't close completely - most of the blade sticks out cause of the thumb hole - i much prefer the way the buck did the thumbhole but unfortunatley the knife is like .75" thick.. this is my issue with the mini grip too - it's on the thicker side. this knife would get very little use on a day to day basis.. i don't care about crazy choils and jimping and ergonomics that much. i'm more interested in design/style/convenience
