I need suggestions. I have narrowed it down to the Delica 4 zdp-189, sage s30v and the paramilitary 2 s30v. I am wondering what knife will be the best edc for my buck
THanks

Which Sage? No matter which Sage, from that list I would choose the Delica, as it has the best combination of blade shape, weight, and ergonomics for EDC.

Going outside your list, my current EDC is a FRCP Manix 2, plain edge, which I prefer over all the knives on your list for EDC.

If it must be the best for your buck:

FRCP Manix 2 (3,85"): $75
Delica 4 zdp-189 (2,88"): $85
sage s30v (3"): $110
paramilitary 2 s30v (3,44"): $165

Snipa, they all cut stuff, so in my view it really boils down to what you subjectively prefer. Among those you list, I probably subjectively prefer the Para 2, though the Delica is awesome and may be Spyderco's flagship model. If bang for the buck is the measure, then the Tenacious lineup and Byrd series are my winners.

Spydercos are in a lot of ways all practically the same knife. Meaning ergonomically they are structured very similar. So if you take looks out and they all kinda look the same. I would use handle shape and size for you to determine what you want to buy. I.e. a manix in the pocket like an endura is not so great vs a sage or delica. But if you happen to be 6'5 you might want the big knife. So check the handle ergos, the pm2 seems to score high on that note but the delica and sage probbie edc better in the pocket.

@O.P.-I think any of these knives will be a great edc. I have the manix and the pm2 and MUCH prefer the pm2 ergos, but opinions vary.

@Mark-I don't know where you're checking prices to find $165 pm2, but you need to NOT shop there! ;). KW has them for $105 and has been getting them in weekly.

Tough to beat a Para2. That said, if you want something new and unique... try out the new Domino flipper... it's a great EDC.

I'd go for delica. Not necessarily in zdp though. It's very light, slim, capable, and strong.

Actually, the delica is the simplest answer to this question. I would definitely take vg10 over zdp steel too. Why? Because I like my knives lazer beam, razor sharp. Even zdp189 is going to lose that crisp hair popping edge after just a little bit of use. I don't mind touching up my edges every couple of days to keep them scary sharp. It's much easier to do that with vg10. Depends on how you use and how you sharpen. Harder isn't necessarily better.

The Delica would be a very smart choice for your dollar, but you may want to look at the Spyderco Stretch. This has a very ergonomic FRN handle to it and is very light. It also sports a lot of blade for its size. I am a big fan of the Para 2 but if bang for the buck is your focus the Stretch is hard to beat for about $75.00 with a VG-10 blade. I have the ZDP- 189 version and it is no problem to sharpen with the Wicked Edge sharpener, but it was more of a challenge to get razor sharp with conventional sharpening stones. The VG-10 blade is much easier to sharpen and maintain. I also find the VG-10 is more tolerant to high humidity environments without staining or starting to corrode. I keep my ZDP-189 Stretch in my shaving kit (high humidity environment) and have had issues with some minor surface pitting if not oiled properly. Good luck with your search!

Thanks for all the input I think I will search for a para 2 and if not might look into the manix 2

This is a very smart recommendation! Stretch is a greeeeeeeeaaaaaaat knife. :)

Can't go wrong with any of your choices, they're all good to go. Pick the one that has the most features you're interested in, if you have the opportunity try to handle before you buy.

Thats a good idea. There is a gun show in couple weeks hope to find some there to try out.

Word for word this is what I was thinking :D I have a dragonfly(which I love ergos) in ZDP and its just annoying to sharpen. My delica on the other hand is probably my favorite knife to carry daily since it is so unbelievably easy to maintain. that paired with its amazing ergonomics and its the best. Being the most inexpensive of your choices the Delica is the best bang for the buck.

IMO: Carry 2 EDC knifes: "one is known and two is one." My vote: dragonfly for 90% of your EDC cutting task and a larger one for everything else (PM2 or one of the others mentioned).

Nope. Not from Spyderco. They just don't make a good quality, sharp, thin profile folder that would work for EDC. Best check Frost Cutlery. You can buy them in sets of 1000 or more on late night TV. Sell the extras and you'll be rich!

Seriously, any Spyderco would make a nice EDC. Pick what you like.
