Recommendation? Need Help deciding on which type of leather belt sheath to make.

Well it took a while but I got back on my CPK UF SOB bald eagle sheath. I got my leather bench built. I made it five feet wide instead of four feet wide like my firearms/knife bench.
It isn't the best looking sheath in the world but it's not too bad.




I got the sheath wet formed. I was lucky and didn't mess up my eagle!


Here the sheath is stitched up. I still need to finish slicking the edges and figure out how to finish it. I was thinking about using Neatsfoot oil but I don't know if it would protect my eagle. Maybe I should use some mahogany dye and seal it with Super Sheen sealer?
You can see how I formed the top piece a little off and had to run my top stitch right on the eagle's head. I'll have to be more careful about that in the future!


My UF fits in the sheath nice and snug. I can hold it upside down and shake the crap out of it and it stays put. I'll have more photos after I finish it up.

I have my UF Bald Eagle SOB sheath finished now! I finished the leather with Dark Mahogany dye and finished it with super sheen. I can see how that I wasn't careful enough with the light coat of super sheen and went a little past the colors. It doesn't look too great but I learned a lot from this sheath. I'll try to do better on my next sheath. At least my knife fits it good and snug.

I did think about that and it's what I would normally do. I also wanted to do some stamping around the eagle but couldn't decide on what I wanted to do and was tired of waiting. I wanted to just get it done and see how it felt to wear it. So I went ahead and put the silver and gold around him.
The sheath fits good and isn't uncomfortable when I'm walking around while wearing it. It weighs 12.48oz with the knife in it.
