Like history? How about cobblestone streets, a beautiful skyline, great food and nightlife? Come to Boston for all these things and more! I'd be happy to point you to the places to see and even show you around a bit! You might want to wait a few months though. New England weather is not fun this time of year.
For real though, my favorite tropical vacation destinations are Turks and Caicos and the Cayman Islands. Also, traveling to Europe is something you have to do at least once in your life. I think my favorite all time vacation destination is Hawaii because everywhere you go, you are surrounded by natural beauty. Best of luck finding a place to go on vacation! I'm envious!

My cabin. I hate going away for vacation so we bought that instead. Now has TV and wifi for my kids, so they LIKE being there. LOL
It's killing me that it's January, no ice on the lake and I can't drop a boat in the water until April.
(Regulations - plus it just isn't worth it to dig out the boat for one day.)

Chile. been there a few times to visit the fiancés family. they don't treat you like tourists there, thats my favorite part. besides its summertime there right now

Well, you could always check out the penguins in Prague...
Or lay on the side of the Daube and listen to the Sound of Music in Salzberg...
Or attend a beer fest in Regensburg....
All towns with beaches (kind of) good food, beer, and knife shops. Plus really good chocolate. And fast cars. And beer.

But I recommend Hawaii if you really want a beach all to yourself. Like this one on Kauai:
Or this nice little pool on Maui:
Or a place where you can paddle out and watch the dolphins jumping (south of Kona on the Big Island).
Even Oahu is quiet and peaceful if you know where to look.
