Hey everyone. I wanted to update. I've been on vacation for a few weeks and had lots of time to pick up some skills.
I bought some leather and green polishing compound and just took my time with stropping and an extra extra fine diamond stone. Also used a good (bright) desk lamp directly over my work so I could see exactly how the edge angle was doing.
I really love my Delica now... It'll shave hair off without a lot of hesitation. It's not going to shave facial hair like the youtube video linked above, but I'm very happy with it.
I also spend some time honing the contact points in the knife making it super smooth but that's another thread completely.
Never underestimate the power of the strop, people. Never.
