Need help: Missing Hiker on Appalachian Trail in VA

I have seen that stretch of trail. There are worse places to be, and there are a lot of good people in the area to look for him. Prayers sent.

Fingers crossed for this guy, hopefully the worst that happens is he comes back with an interesting story.
 
I made this a stickie for now. This is a worry, someone so experienced on a decent trail, just dropping off the map. I hope it's no worse than his iPhone giving out, and him resting up from whatever had him feeling unwell.

I'm hoping this, too. The influenza is wandering around Virginia right now (I've had it myself) and that could take an experienced fellow down for days.

There's still a chance.

Wow that sucks. Is there somewhere i can go to help this guy out? My prayers are with his family and friends.
 
Outstanding. If anyone hears the rest of the story I'd be curious to hear what happened.
