my spyderco endura 4/wave broke yesterday,(my fault don't ask) so I need a new folder it can be a auto, but doesn't have to be. any suggestions ? p.s. can't wait 2 weeks for the busse folder thanks

Depends how much you want to spend, the Kershaw ZT knives are very nice.

The Chris Reeve Sebenza can't be beat IMHO. I EDC a small micarta enlay and also bought a large plain classic that I don't carry much. I have retired all my other folders including a couple of high end handmades. I will never need another folder. Unless Busse comes out with one and that will never happen.

I like the Spyderco folders myself. The Calypso III has been a mainstay since I got it. But if you're looking for bulk and brawn, I second the Manix.

I have been EDCing the same Old Timer 125UT for the last 27 years and while a little battle worn it still does everything I ask it from Stripping Wires, to opening packages to cutting the occasional seatbelt. That last chore has been being religated more and more to a SW folder I keep in my turn out gear.

Just purchased a Busse BMLE and need a busse tough folder, but Busse folder are impossible to get, so were do I go from here? thanks

Yeah no Busse folders except a few protos here and thar. Kinda depends how much you want to spend?

Here's a Beefy one next to a Spydie Military and probably closest to the Busse Folder.

I'll cast another vote for the Sebenza. In addition I'll add Striders to the list. Opinions on marketing hype aside Striders do seem to be pretty solid folders. I use large and small Sebenzas as well as a Strider Sng on a regular basis. I think the Strider blade is more robust (due to its profile), but the Sebenzas are sooooo finely crafted. Another big plus with the Sebenzas is the well defined (and pretty straight forward) cleaning process.

If you don't mind a half pound plus "pocket knife" the Strider AR is probably worth a look........but it's size and weight beg a comparison with a fixed blade knife and if the criteria is Busse tough I don't think that's a terribly fair comparison.

I agree, for a EDC on the lower side of nice folders ( I just got one for $225 slightly used), the ZT300s are pretty nice. I have three and am going to pimp one with different colored scales and remove the striping on the blade.

not sure where you live, make sure you check the local laws before buying an auto.

thanks for the help, i'm leaning towards the Chris Reeve sebenza, but always open to suggestion. any autos?

John trust me, don't just lean, run towards the sebenza ! You wont regret it, but if you do you could sell it on the exchange quickly without taking much of a loss.

I live in Oregon and autos are legal here. (for now!) I just went to the chris reeves forum, there seems to be a lot of talk about blades chipping is this a problem? thanks

I don't think it's exclusive to Sebenzas more S30V steel.
