Need help with new strider SNG

Glad they are making it right for you! Strider is one of my favorite companies by far and have been EDCing a PT / SnG / SMF for many years... absolutely love their knives!

First of all - sorry this was how it came. Having had a similar experience with Strider there is nothing worse than spending 400 plus on a knife that has those issues. Mine had an incredible amount of blade play (honestly it was the worst I have ever seen) worse than a $15 Walmart knife. My suggestion is to return it and find a brand that has more reliable QC or at least QC comparable to the asking price. At $400 a knife should be flawless.

Hate to say this, as I love the looks of striders, but of the 7-8 that I’ve owned, five had to be sent back for work. I will say though, all came back fixed after a month or so though. They normally horrible lock stick after that never really goes away. I finally sold all mine, last SNG got sold a few months ago. They will take care of you though

I thought I would give you guys update on this .
Couple of days ago I got the email from Strider's that they are giving me a new knife and sure enough today i got a package . New knife is flawless, I am super happy and proud owner of SNG :)
Again thanks a lot for all your help guys , very much appreciated !!!

I've read through that stuff and as terrible as it is, I usually pay more attention to the products and vibe of the company because in many cases their personal lives aren't so documented and proven.
When I came across Strider, I first saw a ton of reviews on poor products, then checked them out and saw all this douchey operator low drag high brag stuff, then heard about all the dishonor and wannabe legal stuff.
Strider was a solid NO from the get go for me.

People could argue that I can't be so sure if I don't try them myself, but when a bunch of people I know and talk to claim that a certain truck's transmission always goes out I don't buy that truck.
Never tried hard drugs like meth or heroin but people say it'll mess up your life. The point is folks, you don't need to try a Strider anymore than you need to try hard drugs.
We can't stop you it's your money, but when the initial high wears off, you'll be disappointed. But hey man, I like, never tried it so what do I know??

Fact. This is what you support when you support strider knives: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/mick-strider-has-some-explaining-to-do.453852/

That is what you so proudly support and you are just fine with it.

Also, apostrophes. Please look up how to properly use them. How you are doing it now makes your posts really difficult to read.

Probably taking truth drugs. The opposite of what Mickey Ray Burger AKA Mick Strider was taking when he lied about being a combat veteran and a Special Forces soldier.

I think those knives sell so well because there a lot of sleazy liars like him in the world and they tend to stick together.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Well, some of us (not you, sit down), have a personal moral code of ethics that tells us that supporting lying scumbag stolen valor thieves is wrong. Simple as that.

However, there's plenty of people in the Strider (and Emerson) world who think that buying one of those knives confers super special SEAL black bag Spec-Ops Ranger Delta Bravo sentry removal powers.

Too bad they don't.

Having read the OP's issue, I went to check mine.

Granted, I seldom--if ever--carry it. Mine locks up tight, it has a black "flamed" blade, it came sharp and not one ding or blemish.

I folded the knife, popped it, then folded it again. I pressed the spine as you did in the video, and mine doesn't move so much as an angstrom. But I will admit this, if I would have made an EDC out of mine, I would have never have tried that "press check" as you did. I would have just cut stuff, and if I noticed the 'play' I would have assumed it came from use.

Sorry you had the problem. I'm ashamed to say that mine has become a "safe queen."

SHOT Show is a trade show only, no sales take place there. Also, I don't think Strider had a booth there this year.

+1
I own quite a few Strider's, & up until reading this thread, I too had never done, nor felt the need to do this kind of blade test before (with the blade was in it's closed seated position). A solid lock up when I'm using a knife, is what's most important to me.

^ Technically speaking, you are absolutely correct.

The Las Vegas Shot Show, & the Las Vegas Custom Knife Show, are entirely different shows. The Las Vegas Custom Knife Show, falls right on the heels of the LVSS, however, many gun/knife people, go to both shows. It's just become convenient for many in the knife hobby, to refer to the LVCKS, as the Shot Show (I do anyway).

I stand corrected. :) But that SnG Orange Lego/black Tanto (pictured), was purchased at the LVCKS, just last month.

"I was called out on my wrong "facts" as I was attempting to defend a stolen valor scumbag and his customers who don't care that he's a stolen valor scumbag, so I'll just pretend that I call one show by the name of another in an attempt to obfuscate the fact that I was entirely making something up in order to support my assertion as I've done many times before."

Riiiiiiight. o_O

Nobody calls the Las Vegas Knife Show "SHOT Show". They call the SHOT Show SHOT show.

I've owned 4 production Striders and every single one of them had significant vertical blade play. I sent all of them in at separate times, and each took a minimum of 45 days to receive back. The repair seemed to merely consist of enlarging the stop pin.

I really like Strider's designs, but their QC, and their price point is laughable.
