I want to setup two more work stations for my HI's. I am planning to build venturi forges.
I would like to see what is the most popular burner designs with you Dudes.
They will only be used for forging.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/
IG, check out this one. http://www.zoellerforge.com/sidearm.html
I have built two of them and they work great.
Coooool!!! I just need the burners. I have the forge bodies, Inswool and ITC-100.:thumbup:IG,
I got that double venturi forge, remember the one from the first HI at your place, I could bring that up. I took out the firebrick sides and lined it with Kaowool, but have not coated it with ITC-100.....Got any? :jerkit:
Thank's Bill and thank's Del for the call. :thumbup:George,
I saw a post from Delbert Ealy who metioned he uses something like this. No blower needed.

IG, here is two pics of the sidearm burner I built.
The first one is at 1psig.
The second is at 8psig. Notice the flare is not red hot.

I just use the Reil E-Z burnerWorks for me,and I can weld with it! I used a mig tip for the nozzle (easier than finding small drill bits at the time) and the "axial" choke design.

IG, what size MIG tip are you using? I used a .035
Do you have a flare installed ? I found that it is necessary for a stable flame.
To tune the burner mount it in a vise and set the flare about 3/4" onto the end of the 3/4" nipple.
Insert the MIG tip to center of the air intake or slightly less and leave it just loose enough to vary the insertion depth. Set the propane pressure to about 2psig and light the burner.(put in a dark area so you can see the flame well)
Vary the insertion depth slightly until you get the best flame. Tighten the injector.Turn off the burner. Loosen the set screw on the flare so it can be moved with a pair of pliers. Light the burner again and adjust the flare for the best flame.
You may have to do this a couple of times to get it right.
Edit: I should have looked closer at your pic. That tee will be hard to adjust. You must use an 1 1/4"x1 1/4"x3/4" Ward reducing tee.
I used this kit http://www.zoellerforge.com/flare.html
looks great man but your picture taking sucked. HEHEHE!!! cant wait to see it fired up.
