What are some HUGE folders? No Cold Steels, well aware of all their models and intend to get an XL Recon 1.

What are some huge folders out there for sale?

Needs to be:
Regular production
4.25 inch or longer
Relatively thick blade and handle
$300 or less
High quality materials
Tough steel

Get an Opinel No. 13. It's basically a folding machete, and is tough enough to be used as one. The wood handles aren't great (although they do work just fine. They just look and feel... old fashioned? I guess), but they should be easy enough to reshape and stain/dye to alter their look and feel.

Wow, with that combination of requirements your choices really are limited. Opinel 12 meets your length and handle thickness requirements, but has a very thin blade. CRKT Otanashi Noh Ken meets your length request, but is a fairly slim design. S&W makes a folder that fits your length and thickness requests, but...S&W knives are pretty junky, not high quality materials.

Don't like any of those lol. Currently only have a ZT 0600 and Emerson Super Roadhouse. Have a Ontario Retribution 1 but I want it to be pocketable easily.

The main issue is, with that combo of requests-long and thick(no wisecracks!), tough and regular production...you're basically in the market that really only Cold Steel regularly explores, lol.

Maybe something from Extrema Ratio or Pohl Force?
There is the Strider SnG XL, but it is double your budget.

Well by thick I really meant .125 or more if that helps...

I like Extrema Ratio's a lot but their lockbacks are painful to close and my favorite model is the RAO which isn't exactly something I want to put in my pocket.

I don't pay attention to knives with 4"+ blades myself, but you could always head over to a popular online dealer that has the option to search/sort by blade-length.

Apparently its not popular enough for me to know...Or I do know and I haven't got a clue as to which one it is.

Benchmade Onslaught and Super sized Emersons come to mind. Grayman Satu looks to be a bad motha but will run you closer to $400.

Look for an old Camillus CUDA MAXX with a 5.5" D-2 blade. They pop up from time to time.

I'm gonna go for that new Pohl Force myself. Sick stuff. I believe the newest model has the Lionsteel lock that locks it into place as a fixed blade if need be? Definitely what you're looking for, many models fit that bill.

The D2 Cuda Maxx 5.5
Lone Wolf T3
Benchmade Rukus
Benchmade Skirmish

All out of production but vital for a monster folder collection. Have/had all of them and they are all excellent and good for a lifetime of use. They are difficult to find and can cost some but are the best of the best of the production stuff not counting some of the cold steel giants. I'd take these over any cold steel though.
