I always wondered, what does that mean..?

I am a Buddhist, so I do not "pray" in the Christian sense, what this is, is a "Mani Wheel", it is inscribed with the phrase "OM Mani Padme Hum" in Sanskrit, this is usually refered to as the divine mantra, which is the mantra of Kuan Yin, the Buddha of Compassion. Every time it is recited, or in this case the wheel spins, her compassion is invoked on behalf of those it was placed for.

I appreciate those that post when they they need prayers or good thoughts.

It's my turn this time, my mom is in declining health and is making a emergency trip into the hospital for a series of blood transfusions.

Thanks for your help.

(I'll save the part about doctors not looking at test results for 2 months for another time. )

My prayers start on the West coast & work Eastward ,that way I am sure to cover the U S & then I go world-wide. For those in particular need I have a top ten list & pray it several times a day. Your Mom is at the head of that list along with you & your family .

God bless us all !

Dave,

I was saddened to read about your mom. She and your entire family are in my prayers and good thoughts. Be there for her, like she's always been there for you.

It really helps to read all your messages, thanks.

No news yet this morning, I live several states away so I have to call or get phone updates.

Dave, a bit of advice. If you have not done so, get your mother to sign a release authorizing her doctors to disclose any and all information to you. Make sure that this is put into her file. Without this, the medical personnel will not be able to tell you anything about her (because of legal reasons). Tell the doc you want your mom to sign a HIPAA authorization. Without this, you may be kept in the dark about any details of her condition.

I hope this helps, and best of luck.

Dave, i wish your mom, yourself and your family all the best. I hope all goes well. I will say a prayer. As for yourself stay strong and stay positive.

Words sent to the big guy upstairs, your mother, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Update, things are "medium" we'll know more in a couple of days.

Not to make this into a soap opera, but it underscores the importance of finding a good doctor. I often wonder if living in a small town means getting substandard health care because you have few choices in doctors.

So anyway goes like this: Current doctor pretty much does not communicate at all, especially concerning test results, Last fall I caused a biig stink when I went to the Dr's office in person to complain about not getting test results from tests done in August.

Fast forward to yesterday when my mom has occasion to see a new doctor for a different issue, the doctor happens to see subsequent test results form Nov and Dec and orders her to go to the hospital.

Did previous doctor let us know there where problems with Nov and Dec test results? Noooooo of course not.

We are trying to get her switched to someone else. Eventually I'll put together a complaint to the state's licensing authority about the original doctor.
