Looking for a new EDC Folder. I don't have too many limitations other than it has to be a 4 inch blade and a folder. As far as wants, I'd like it to be lightweight and have one hand operation but right now I am open to all options. So what are my options??

There are various trappers with a 4" blade but one hand operation? traditional forum might not be the best place to ask for that. ;)

I've always like the Spyderco Endura knives. You can get them in a sabre or full flat grind, and fairly inexpensively. I've used them for years.

Boker makes a trapperliner and a copperliner. Both are traditional-looking knives, but have a stud for one-hand opening. Based on the name I'm assuming that both are liner-locks, but I could be mistaken.

jwalker...

Al Mar Falcon ..micarta handles and linerless has a blade 3 5/8" thumb stud for one hand opening and in a mid lock design

CRKT m16 series. not sure if you'd consider it EDC, but I'm pretty sure they'd get the job done. I have carried the M16-13z for 2 years now, and it does mostly whatever I want it to. One hand open/closing, around a 4 inch blade, and pretty lightweight.

You are correct...they are both liner locks.

I rec the Case/Bose Back Pocket. 4 5/8 closed. I have the ebony version and I couldn't be happier.

I don't think you're looking for a traditional folder. :)
I'm going to consolidate the 2 threads.

Spyderco Military.....4" blade, lightweight G10 handle, nested linerlock, and the SpyderHole for easy access opening. With a variety of versions available, you're sure to find something to your liking. Good Luck

The spyderco Resilience has a 4.25" blade. The spyderco Military is also an excellent option. Benchmade Onslaught I think has just over a 4" blade. Maybe check out some options from Kershaw too!

How about a Cold Steel Recon 1 with the tri-ad lock. The new model is linerless and is lightweight. Good Luck. Kevin

Spyderco Military, hands down, little contest.

In terms of comfort it is the best if you have large hands, carries slim and light for its size, and is a pleasure to cut with. Because of its size I haven't carried mine except for hiking and outdoor use, but it excels at that. The lock is very well done as well-easily accessed, secure and quite strong.
