Need reccomendations for 4in EDC Folder

BM 710. much better blade to handle ratio than the military. slim, carries well, axis lock can't be beat. can still get one in m390 from knifeworks!

The Al Mar Ultralight Eagle has a 4" blade. I have the two smaller ones and am very pleased with them.

I guess, it depends how much you are willing to spend for a folder... I have several 4 in folders and actually I like them all although I do not carry them in urban environment. Nevertheless, I do use them while I am in the field. Based on my experience, if you do not want to spend too much money you can get a CRKT M21, a really decent big folder. If you are willing to spend more, then you can choose between the Spyderco Military and the Benchmade 710. Both of them are great knives, it will be purely up to your personal preferences, I suppose.

It's been said before but I will say it again - Benchmade 710. :D

CQC11
CQC 8 or Super 8
Syderco Military
Benchmade LFTi Bob Lum
These are some of my favorites in a 4 inch blade.

Looking for a new EDC Folder. I don't have too many limitations other than it has to be a 4 inch blade and a folder. As far as wants, I'd like it to be lightweight and have one hand operation but right now I am open to all options. So what are my options??

Hogue EX-1 4" with alum. handle

Spyderco Military. It has been my go to knife ever since I got one. Don't even think, just get one, and get it now. I'd recommend an Orange one!

Now quit reading and get one!

Spyderco Military or 4" Hogue EX01 in G-Mascus  The Hogue EX01 is of my favorite folders right now:

Cheaper to more expensive:

Spyderco Resilience
CRKT M16
CRKT M21
Spyderco Endura
Spyderco Police
Benchmade 710
Spyderco Military <- recommended, great steel, lightweight, nothing bad about it

BM Onslaught is not lightweight. It is heavier like CRKT's. There is also unavaible BM Rukus, Skirmish.

Out of the many, many knives I have...in a 4" folder format, the one I carry the most is my Spyderco Military PE. Its light and strong. Its easy to open with either hand. The lock is very positive and there is no wiggle in the blade when locked. The steel is excellent and the blade shape is great for cutting. Its not a sharpened pry bar though. Its for cutting. I like my Emerson CQC-10 but I think the Military is more practical for EDC...

Spyderco Military.

It will be the 4" folder that you measure all other 4" folders by.

that being said, those Hogues look mighty fine, although they appear a good bit thicker than the Military.

Does it have to be exactly 4 inches? what is it for? if you want a really chunky 4 incher, go for the ZT 0200. kershawguy has them for 85 bucks over in the ZT blem thread. Mine is coming in the next week or two. if it does not have to be 4 inches, check out the Junkyard dog 2. i love it, and it is tons of fun. really heavy duty, too.

the kershaw offset, jd2, and zero tolerance 301 all have 3.75" blades and one handed opening. 3.75 is a big folder

It's been said before but I will say it again - Benchmade 710. :D
Not familiar with the 710, but I sure like my #740 DejaVoo.
It's a Lum design that deploys quickly with one hand, & the blade is made from S30V.
As you can see, (the one on the bottom) it also fits your size requirement. ;)

Get the Spyderco Military, if you plan to actually use this knife. Or get a FFG Endura if the Military is too expensive for your budget.
