I received a knife in trade from a well-known maker in early January, and noticed the blade was very off center in the handle when closed, which I felt was unacceptable at that price level, and based on this maker's reputation. I contacted the maker and was clear about how I had acquired the knife, and asked if he would fix it. He was very nice in his reply, and gave me his address and asked me to return it to be fixed. I got one email nearly a month later after I inquired confirming that he had received it, and that he would be working on it shortly.

Well, over a month passed, and after repeated emails with no response, I finally got one back on March 18 apologizing for the delay and lack of communication, assuring me that the knife would be returned to me that week.

Another month has gone by, and I have heard nothing from him despite several emails. Four months have passed now, and I've been very patient. I sent him one last email before I'm going to reveal his identity here so that others can be aware.

Please, give me some advice on how to handle this. Some of you may know who I'm talking about already.

I'm considering going to the police, as the knife is worth $400.

Thanks.

Thanks for the emails. It's not who any of you suggested. I'll make a new thread if i need to fully call the guy out.
