Need some new knives so I can go camping!

Well, in case anyone is interested, I ordered the knives today.

I decided to just go real cheap on the fixed blade, as I will only use it when I'm camping, the folder I could work into my EDC rotation.

A few people in the thread recommended Cold Steel and while I've heard a lot of bad things about them I thought I would try one out for $10, no big deal. Again, I will probably only use the fixed blade a few days out of the year so it's not that important. So I ordered a Cold Steel Finn Bear.

For the folder, I thought I'd add to my growing Kersaw collection so I ordered a Cyclone.

While I was at it, I also went for a Kershaw Nakamura, but that's not for camping, it's just gorgeous :D

Cool, hope they work well for you. Try visiting the Wilderness and Survival subforum here with pictures and reports! We love that stuff there.

I caught this late, and was going to recommend the Mora 2000 plus a Victorinox One Hand Trekker. Net cost would be $50, both are modern and great designs. Maybe next time! (Plus once you try out a scandi, you'll want more and more)

Please let us how your knives work out for you. - -
(Its already been mentioned but I was thinking of the Vic One Hand opener as a folder, and either a Mora, Martinni (sp?) 571 or a CS Bushman as your fixed. - - Not a lot of cash needed.)

And to anyone reading the thread - - - there's lots of open country out here in the West (and up in Alaska of course) ! :)
