Ok guys let me first say the Buck 110 has been a part of my life for a long time. I've carried one for many years as a teen. My adult life I've carried one almost everyday for over 11 years. Well about 4 months ago I started conceal carrying. Well my gun now rides were my 110 use to. I really didn't think it would be a big deal not carrying a 110. But man I miss it.

I tried putting the 110 behind it but that interferes with gripping the pistol. My left side has cell phone, spare magazine and multi tool. The only real solutions I can think of is either not carry the 110 or to go with some sort of pocket carry. The 110 jut seems big for pocket carry. As a teen I use to sometimes carry one in the back pocket but then back then I did a lot of stuff.

I've been thinking of asking this on here for awhile but have been hesitant. I'm just looking for suggestions of maybe something I haven't thought of.

FannyPack...... all that stuff is gonna pull your pants down.... :D

There are a number of concealed carry specific packs out there with a quick access velcro or zipper compartment for the gun. The rest of the stuff can go in the front pouch.

This may or may not work for you but it's worth a try. I have a couple of pair of Dickies work jeans including one pair of shorts that have the cargo pocket on the side of the leg. Sometimes I use the cargo pocket as an option for my 112. I think there are other companies that make these style of work jeans too.

In the late 90s early 2000s bucks issue sheath with the 110 it was very thin and offered a sideways carry option. Very comfortable to carry.

Fanny pack out of the question. Buckman110 I completely forgot about the sideways carry on the sheath. I might try that and see if that works.

Thats the only way i carry a 110 now :) now the new 110s come with one, but... Its stitched completely different i dont care for them at all. But you may like it. I might have an extra.

Well I'll have to come up with another idea. The horizontal slots are too small for a belt to go through. Well I have to go for I'll check in later.

Take a look at the 110 Lochsa. It has a hefty price tag but when you consider the materials used and pocket clip it may be the answer. Here's a pic from the internet.

As a civilian; I've never needed to reload my handgun during a gun-fight; ever. Actually, I don't remember ever actually having to defend myself with my handgun. I don't remember one time where I've had to draw my handgun to prepare to defend myself either. So, you can leave your spare magazines at home or in the car.

That will free up the left side for your 110.

What qualifies my response? I've been carrying concealed (with permit, of course) for about 20 years.

I've carried everything from my S&W 586 to a 5" 1911. I carry my Walther PPQ in either an Alien Gear IWB holster above my right rear pocket, a Galco shoulder rig under my left arm, or on my right hip in a DeSantis thumb break scabbard at about the 4:00 position. In any of those options, I can have my knife on my right whether it's in my pocket (CSAR-T) or on the belt (110 in leather or 560 in canvas).

You've not needed to carry a firearm for defense for all but the last 4 months of your life. You shouldn't expect to need a spare mag, flashlight, baton and hand-cuffs all of the sudden....

Buy a weapon suitable for concealed carry. Buy several, actually. As seasons change, so does your wardrobe. You'll need to coordinate everything or you'll be wearing long, untucked shirts with jeans all year long.

Examples:
When I'm wearing colder weather clothes I carry either my PPQ, Glock 23 or Kimber Ultra-Carry.
When I'm wearing summer clothes (shorts + t-shirt) I almost always carry my Kel-tec PF9 but will mix in the .38 or Limber.
Working outside, fishing, etc... almost always Kel-Tec.

Buy high quality leather for everything. Yeah... it's expensive, but if you want to carry, you should be safe and comfortable. If I had to guess, I've spent at least as much in leather as I have for each of my handguns. I probably have enough leather to make 4 cows and at least a horse and a half.

There's my $0.02. Spend it wisely!

Ditching the spare mag is bad advice, as a magazine is needed to deal with malfunctions quickly.
OP, can you describe your carry rig? What position, what holster, what gun, etc?

I've never needed a gun. I like them. I own them. I don't NEED them. I use my knife all the time. It's actually my go to tool.

I'm not saying you shouldn't carry a gun, I'm just saying if it's a choice between my knife and gun, I'm going knife.

Thats me also. They dont run out of ammo.

From left(weak side) to right. Cell phone in maxpedtion cell phone case, spare magazine, victorinox multi tool, Sig 229 in galco concealble owb at about 3:30-4:00.

I respectfully disagree. Ones confidence, training, experience, and quality of equipment make everyone different. Personally; I can clear a jamb of many different varieties without dumping the magazine almost 50% faster than dumping the magazine, clearing, then reaching for another magazine, inserting it, then racking.

If this is someone's genuine concern, they need to be packing a wheel gun all of the time. Dumping a magazine because of a weapon jamb is a frivolous waste of valuable resources.

On topic... someone mentioned the nylon sheaths that can be put horizontally on the belt. There was a time when I carried my 110 this way in the small of my back within reach of my left hand. I loved it, but there were two problems. First, the 110 was such a tight fit that it was tough to get in and put easily, and secondly, the loops weren't big enough for a "gun belt" and would wear and tear too quickly.

There are many leather crafters out there who could make (and may already have) a horizontal sheath that would work for the 110.

Maybe I shouldn't of started this thread. I didn't mean for it to turn into a debate on if I should carry a spare mag. If I'm carrying my 229 I will be carrying a spare mag. If I'm carrying my revolver I will be carrying a reload for it also.

And as far as not needing to carry a firearm until the past 4 months of my life. Well that's just BS. For the past 13 years I've lived in a state that forbad it. Before moving here I did carry all the time. I worked to darn hard to get the right to carry in this state not to carry.

I don't understand the whole "you shouldn't expect" idea. Do you carry a spare tire? Do you carry jumping cables? Why? You shouldn't expect to need them.

Exactly, complete agreement hunt. And you seriously think that equipment dont malfunction... You sir are sadly mistaken. My knife wont fail to flip into action to do some close contact work..
And that horizontal sheath is awesome. I dont think i would want to edc a gun belt. If you break in that sheath you will love it.
