I too think the Spyderco Tenacious fits the bill quite well. In fact many persons with more expensive knives like to keep one as a beater type knife that can handle quite a bit of abuse.
So.
What happened? Did you give up on your quest?
fyi, if you want an SD blade you should join an appropriate group, forum, dojo and learn from the ground up. Your question won't be taken seriously (as you have seen) by the people who CAN help you. There is alot of info out there you should search for and pay attention to first because using a knife to defend yourself or others is not a light matter, agreed? Therefore your INPUT needs to be serious and well structed, if it is not then your OUTPUT will reflect that and probably in a rather tragic way. You need to understand the hows whats wheres whens and whys before you go obtaining some big honkin (or little honkin, for that matter) "FIGHTING" or "TACTICAL" knife. The members of this forum actually have HELPED you out by slapping you around a bit. Join up, learn and read and then someday you might help someone else out!

Kershaw RJI - Around $25 Good Knife, And It's Assisted.
Kershaw Scamp - A Little Smaller Than The One Ton, Less Wide, But Is A Frame Lock And Goes For Around $20 - I Absolutely Love This Knife. It's One Of My Favorite Kershaws.
Byrd Cara Cara 2 - G-10 - Excellent Knife For $30.
Byrd Raven - G-10 - Around $25 And Awesome.
If You Would Up Your Limit By Like $20ish I Would Say Go With:
