Need Tips n Tricks for a Whispy hamon

Kanahada softens/darkens the brightness of the blade surface, and allows the hamon to be more visible in comparison. It is used when the blade surface is very bright, and thus the hamon is hard to discern.
Shashikomi is used to enhance the hamon, while not changing the ji all that much. Shashikomi is used for very complex and delicate hamons. It tends to whiten the hamon, but does not darken the shinogi-ji.

In answer to the question - It is a one or the other thing.
 
Just finished the full quench with a thinner coating of Clay.
Did seem to cool quicker than the thicker coating with an edge quench.
Unless there is a 2gallon donation of parks 50 the McMaster carr will have to do for right now.
In the tempering oven so will post pics on Thursday of the Post HT
