Need traditional help for hunting season!

Bosse- no need to feel embarrassed, I understand why you said what you did. I am sure hunters around here would act in much the same manner. I am trying to find my own style and am OK if that isn't for everybody- as long as some like it (and as long as I like it too!). That is my brothers 30-30, hunting in the brush and recovering from 2 broken legs meant last year I travelled light, my .303 is still a bit too heavy for all day long, plus I am hunting in the brush so wanted a shorter gun. The 38-40 I will be using is similar, but about 70 years older and an octagon shaped barrel. I tend to like the dropped edge as opposed to the backwards angled blade, but having worked in a meat shop and having a dad who worked in a slaughter house I have used (and own) that kind of knife- not my particular style but I do understand how most like them.

Once again I appreciate the comments and take them as they were meant!
