Need Your Input On The Greatest Viking Battle Axe Of ALL Time!!!!

Legend has it that Pepsi experimented with market research once with about 4 or 5 options.. Chose the one that got the most points. Like, maybe 32 points. Got a big ole 30 in sales.
Mountain Dew watched, then put 5 products on the market at once. They got... 98% in sales.

I'd suggest doing a pre-sale event, and building 150% of each number that comes in for each design.
Then measure sales, and have a secondary limited run for each design that undercuts demand by 20%. Enzo style.

Or... make both versions in the short variant, then offer a milled out handle slab with steel liner insert to extend the length for those who want longer reach... or a convertible. Enzo style.

Middle or right.

Longer is better here. We’ve already had the KDSH and Rattle Hawk, no need for more shortys.

The middle one would likely get used more, it’s more practical. But double-bit seems necessary too.

The Viking Long Serpent seems to have generated an outpouring amongst the HOGs for a companion Viking Battle Axe.

So, with that in mind, here are some drawings for you to look at. . .

They will be .210" Thick INFI, and will run anywhere from 17 -20" long overall.

These all feature a handle that tapers at the same angle as the blade on the Viking Long Serpent.

Take a look and tell us what you drink. . . errrr. . . think. . . . tell us what you think!

GO!!!

Well, if it is going to be a battle axe, it seems that it HAS to be double-bit. Of the three, I would choose the one on the right. But I like the way the bits on the left one extend forward, almost like they could be used for stabbing. But I don't like the way they also extend back toward the wielder so they could injure him as well. Especially in a shorter length like that. Switch the length of the first and third bits, and now you're talking! Or hybrid. Length of first, lower bit of third, upper bit of first.

Just spitballin' though. back to what I said first: of the three as drawn, the third (right) is the only one that would probably interest me.

Middle, but, double bit, with the same geometry it already has, just transposed. Long handle with a very thin medium sized, short spike between the bits.

Edit: delete the spike.

*makes sad tomahawk noises
Definitely single bit with the longer handle
Double bit looks really sick, but for more practical use I have to go with single

Definitely double bit. One on the left but size of the one on right

With it being a battle axe, it should be double sided, which I love the way the one on the right looks. However, if we could have two options and have the single blade and double blade, axes three and four in the second picture, I think that would be amazing.

I like being out under the stars and don't really see myself in many "battles" these days.

That being posted, and from a practical standpoint, the middle iteration (*single bit) would serve me better than the other two.

Just my humble opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Can you you manufacture all 4 options as prototypes and then do a re-vote? I wonder how many people would pick all four as there favorite...and buy all four.
What a fun collection that'd be!!!!!!!

If you decide to prototype all four and declare one as the winner, put the other three up for auction so someone can have the collection. Or if you you don't want to do that, I'd be happy to take the losing three axes to the recycling center for you----free of charge. I'd be willing to pay for shipping.
Please no as a sheath maker for these things buying all four will kill me

This right here we already have plenty of single bit Busse-kin hatchets

the far right. This is a viking battle axe, not a camp axe
Yes Yes yes

7" edges
25" over all

wow that would be sweet :)

Just me I’m sure, but I’d love to see a long version with a curved spike, like the Winkler Combat axe. That much blade/weight, 20” of reach, and the ability to cut or pry as needed would be everything I need in an outdoors axe!

Single bit!!!! IMO way way more useful than double.
First pick is the longer single. Second choice shorter single bit
