Need Your Input On The Greatest Viking Battle Axe Of ALL Time!!!!

#1 we already have quite a few near this category, crash rat, sniper hawk, rattlehawk(kind of) as far as having the hammer poll well it is pretty thin.
but any thicker and it is really not a fighting axe.

#2 neat and cool and all, but too pointy, i foresee a lot of folks poking themselves......a lot

#3 see number 1

#4 I really like it a bunch, not too pointy 2 edges incase you damage or dull one.
It is also what was asked for; Viking Battle axe,
at least what I see. when I think of one.
22 or so long from tips to tail
8" to 9" cutting edges

It would be really cool to laser runes in the handle :)
Busse Combat Knives
See you in Valhalla

You my friend are a giver :)

The idea behind the Busse Ultimate Viking Battle Axe centers around modern design and materials. So, I guess what we are after is where the Viking axe would be today if it were to have kept developing. Solid, 1 piece integral construction, INFI steel, Modern handle materials, etc. . .

It is nearly impossible to find an original Viking axe with a double-edged design, but I imagine that a double-edged version would have ultimately come into being if it had kept evolving.

I've been working on more designs and will be posting them as they are finished.

Until then,

So I have been giving it more thoughts than I should have. Basically useless mental gymnastics for funs.

I think honestly this might be a challenge, in a fun way to come up with something.

Hard part 1: find a double bit historical axe (not many exist as we established)

Hard part 2: find cool axe head shape from Viking era. (They settled on a design that basically looks like a 5 year old triangle drawing)

Hard part 3: get the evolved part right while keeping it still Viking and not what combat axes became (axes kept evolved so we can end up with Renaissance era weapon or something)

Hard part 4: keep it Busse. (Needs to be in line with Busse traditional designs and not a copy of something someone else did.)

My solution to all of that:

DOUBLE BIT BUSSE RATTLEHAWK!

Issues 1 double bit. There were some. You'd have to go back to earlier times, but there were stone double bit axes in scandinavian region!

BONUS: They were boat shaped! Picture attached. And it goes along the theme of matching long serpent ship sword! And double bit rattle hawk kinda reminds you of a viking ship profile!

Issue # 2 cool factor: rattlehawk was cool...this is double cool. Should really get double bit people excited.

Issue #3 keeping it Viking. It is litteraly an existing scandinavian axe, made with modern materials! Not jumping ahead.

Issue #4 keeping busse. The best part it is a design based on what Busse kin did before, no one can say it is rip off!

Yeah I have an RMJ Shrike, I have abused heavily, it is sort of hefty. When I rarely get an axe I like to be able to throw it at wooden targets usually a log that I cut with that axe lol. I had lots of fun with two double bit Cold Steel throwing axes until their handles broke. As for this one my choice is number 2. If anyone has played the computer game Chivalry 2 and saw the Dane Axe in that game, that is what I think would be ideal.

My $0.02. They all look badass!! But if it ends up being a single edge, I'd like to see some kind of swell at the base. Whether it's a modified Fusion butt, not a complete Fusion handle, just the butt or the Huck butt, something along those lines just to make sure it isn't going to go sailing out of the hand. Or maybe the current handle works just fine. Sorry, that's just my "function over form" brain,

Edit: The more I look at pics, I would go with the Huck butt

Well originally it is a minoan axe, the axe belonging to a goddess. Also I'm pretty sure why minatour are often depicted with those kind of exes. Was also associated with amazons.

I came across a bunch of those when I went down the rabbit hole looking for double bit axes.

I'm pretty sure we are going with gut feeling berserker axe look over historical at this point. Kind of when you ask someone to draw a viking helmet most will draw it with horns, when vikings didn't stick horns on their helmets.
