Need Your Input On The Greatest Viking Battle Axe Of ALL Time!!!!

Not at all, but....

I'd probaly buy one, though, if I hadn't promised myself that the Viking sword would be the last. But I'll probably cave.

Hmmm... do I detect a hint of jealousy of the country with one of the highest war win rates in history, and definitely European number one, when compared to our numbers, especially in recent less than flattering history haha.

Jokes aside I had another idea, what if we don't have a symmetrical double bit, but back side would ba charging boar head shape? WITH A TOP SPEAR SPIKE!

Kinda like in attached picture, but the boar head can be bigger.

I'm kinda in a historical bender right now, as in the more traditional the better. And traditionally not a single viking axe was 2 sided.

So I'd have to go with option number 2. On a flip side none of the 3 choices are very historical.

So as non historical I'd probably still chose number 2. As it'll be just lighter and I'd be able to field sharpen over the need to use the second bit. I'd probably want a short spike on the back over hammer head, to chop down something, than sink a spike into a log to drag it somewhere.

I'm not sure My opinion.....and IT doesn't matter here.....haha.

But.....do we Know historical???

Not to tangent this thread, but the movie "Valhalla Rising" totally Kicks Ass!
Had lots of violence and axe play.....main guy's is single. Just saying.

-Now, I wanna watch it again.
One of My favorite period pieces, If you are into That kind of thing.

Fantastic movie.

The stuff they find in burial sites and archaeological digs are probably a good representation of what’s historically accurate… Also, the best Viking movie I’ve seen yet is “The Northman”.

Heh, your opinion matters as much as mine if not more bud.

There is a significant body of work on vikings, and their weapons and tools. So historical is not that hard to come by...it's harder not to go down various rabbit holes once you start combining through it.

I think I watched Valhalla Rising like 10 years ago...I personally didn't like it as much from what ai remember. I think it had good fights and beautiful scenery...but the movie in my mind kinda undercut gravity of those scenes as it got pretty repetitive with exactly the same way it presented them. I don't mind almost no dialog, but in this movie it might have helped just to break up the repetitive nature of the movie.
