Needing a new EDC, gentlemans folder type

I am currently carrying a BM Leopard Cub. (not much of a gentlemans folder)

I am not a fan of bulky or heavy items in my pocket. I cannot have a belt knife.

these knives I believe to be lighter and thinner. (planning go to a store to actually fondel, but its a trip since i live out in the boonies)

I like looks of the Kershaw Splinter. About the same specs as my BM, but thinner i believe.

Al Mar Hawk. Either the classic or ultra lights. The Ultra Lights are priced reasonably, but just dont have the look of the classics or the Splinter.

Any other suggestions???

Thanks

How much do you want to spend??? Chris Reeves makes a knife called the Mnandi that would be perfect for what you want. William Henry makes some awesome knives as well!!!

About how much for a Mnandi?

The knifes I mentioned where in the 50-85 dollar range.

I carry a BM 940 Osborne a lot, especially when dressed for work. Its slim, elegant, easy to carry with a useful sized blade. I forget its on me.

You're going to think this is funny, but comparing my new Combat Elite RRF to the 940 reveals the RRF could actually double for a gentlemen's knife. Its overall length is shorter than the 940, while its blade length is the same. While it is a little heavier, wider and thicker, its not by much. It carries just as easily. Just remember to remove the little lanyard with the skull before pulling it out at work and your good to go. :)

BM 940, 921, or 960, or if you can find a 770....

The 2006 940 is in S30V btw.....Yeah!!!!

The Mnandi is what my wife carries in the office everyday but if that is out of the question the BM 940's are an excellent choice. Though the 940 is slightly larger.

My choice for a gentleman's folder would be a vintage Bruckmann knife. Commonly available on eBay for under $50, made before WWII, very high German quality, excellent quality. I believe the over-supply and low prices of these excellent knives is due to a large warehouse find a few years ago.

Case, Queen, and Schatt Morgan (made by Queen), AG Russell, and Boker are some other brands I would consider for pocket carry.

Happy Shopping!

Slvgx: You are so right!! That is an excellent choice!! Great price and an awesome knife!!

The Chris Reeves Miandi is what you want....but cant afford. Another choice is the Wegner Mouse II in G10 and S30V.

How about a Benchmite from Benchmade or perhaps a Kershaw Chive in the BC1 coating? At least I think it is BC1 coating?

I would also have to put in a good word for the Mnandi. But I think you could find a Caly Jr. in zdp189 pretty close to your price range and it sits in your pocket like it's not there. Not very PC but a sturdy little cutter!;)

Absolutly the Almar Hawk ultralight.

I own one, and it is my sunday-going-to-church knife (Since the rest of my week has very little to do with being a gentleman). The fit and finish on this knife is SUPURB! Every joint and pivot is super solid. The linen micarta scales are nicely polished, and it is indeed "ultralight." It's also a very nice fit in the pocket.

As far as lines go, I believe it to have very classic lines, with its swage back blade and spear point. A excellent choice for discriminating "gentlemen" everywhere.
