Lately, I've been neglecting the musical side of my life. There never seems to be enough time. I made a descision a couple weeks ago to start playing my drums again... being out of shape, low on chops and a out of time.... what better opportunity to shoot a video?

Just thought I'd post this to show you a different side of me... you know... character developement... every tragedy has one.

I've been meaning to get back to my French horn for a while now. Good to see someone else getting the musical kick again!

Man that is a good work out. I know its not so manly but always wanted to learn the flute.

Cool! I took a long hiatus from playing too, and felt really good about starting again.

Small tom sizes there. is that like 8,10, 12 and 14 ft?
I play a Bonham size kit, which has a much deeper tone. How do you like that wood snare hoop? I'm always afraid they'll break.

keep playing! it's the best free therapy (other than getting laid) :D

I can play the tin whistle and Italian-styled ten-hole ocarinas well enough. I'm not so great with woodwinds that don't have a fipple. Get a decent tin whistle (I have a Chieftain brand machined aluminum in D) and take it in the woods with you. Durable, light, and easy to play. :)

Very cool, Rick.

If you play the videos separately, it's clear that you have some real talent and are having fun letting loose.

If you play them simultaneously, it sounds like you've gone mad. :p

Thanks for sharing,

- Mike

Nice stick work there, i'd have put an eye out within the first few seconds of trying that.

I guess anything is possible :D

Yeah, I fill in for Mr Gorilla when he is not available. His style is more evolved than mine.

Thanks, KmArTD.

Do you know what they call the people that hang out with musicians?

Drummers!:D

I know your next project.

Bushcraft Bongos
with removable skin, so you can store your gear inside:D

If you wanted to use it as a drum, you could use some of those 12" ferros from Going Gear as your sticks.

TF..... that is some sweet harp playin, brutha..... I kinda figured you'd be good at suckin' n blowin'... The term "mouth organ" must have caught your attention as a youngster, eh? Flame-on!

That is all true.

I think you were attracted to playing the skins as well. It seems, however, you have mastered playing the skin flute.

So close - yet - so far.

Flame retardant suit packed in my PSK.
